How did I manage before? This magnet is long and has a magnet cover that sits flush against its edges. This resultant pattern prevents the fabric from sliding under the magnets. It will not move as you sew your seams because it is a very strong magnet. You can keep your seems straight with it. The seams on a curve can also be kept straight with it. A magnet makes sewing straight seams easier if you have trouble lining up your needle.

I like the straight line and the better finish of this door. There is quite a bit of weight to this seam guide, and so it stays in place while My recommendation is to try it.

I would have loved it except it would have to line up with my machine's foot in order to line up at 1/4, and the magnet does not work well with it.

You have a great idea, but if the top of your machine is not all metal, your idea will not It will only hold for about 1 inch on my Bernina.

It worked really well for me. I used to have one built into my machine, but I lost it. I like how this is movable, but it holds very well on my machine.
