Hi there- Each color is represented by two packets. We put them on shirts and other clothing, but not towels. We didn't even take a look at the second color pack. It was a big hit at the girls' birthday party because it was so colorful!
Put more pigment in if you want a darker color, and less pigment in if you want a lighter color. I hope this response has been of assistance to you. I put one pack of dye in each bottle and then filled it with water to the top. That seemed to work fine, but make sure you give it a good shake!

My family and I took advantage of a rainy Saturday to try out the tie dye kit, and we had a great time. The tie dye kit comes with easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions and great examples of various tie dye techniques, as well as enough material for two packages.
I was able to dye four long sleeves (adult 2xl), four short sleeves (adult large), one short sleeve (adult 2xl), and five pairs of adult crew socks. The colors are great, and there are so many to choose from, but I found that they didn't spread as evenly or nicely as some other dye kits I've purchased in the past.
Please excuse the wrinkles; I didn't want to waste time ironing these poorly dyed items, so I put them in the dryer overnight. *So, for Christmas, I ordered this kit for my 8-year-old son. I was equally as ecstatic as she was. We broke it out this past weekend because tie dying has become something we do together, and I figured it would be a fun and cheery thing to do during this stupid pandemic and winter time. We strewn our plastic cloth across the ground and went to town. We 100% cotton tee shirts and fabric, used almost the full set of dye powders, and had some pretty nifty and colorful creations. It was thrilling because such dark colors as black, dark blues, and green had never been seen before. I bagged and wrapped them, then let them sit for at least 24 hours before rinsing them. I washed them on a gentle cycle with baby Dreft detergent, and when I went to put them in the dryer today, I was surprised to see that half of the shirts were whiter than white. Only a small amount of the dye was absorbed. And the dye that did stick has faded to the point of being unusable. We usually get some fading, so I expected it. However, we found that the little $1 kits we purchased at local dollar stores stuck better and were more vibrant. Such a letdown. I'll post pictures once they're out of the dryer if I have time. My daughter and I are both disappointed. Thankful that, even if it was a waste, it was at least enjoyable to do together. I guess I'll have to make amends by purchasing dyes from a well-known, reputable manufacturer.
I gave this product three stars because it was missing several components when it arrived from the Amazon warehouse, including bottles, dyes, gloves, aprons, and rubber bands, which I never got to use. So, if you read my review, keep in mind that I didn't get to use it, so my review is probably more about Amazon's warehouse and the returns that they don't process, and they assume that everything's in the box when you buy something that says "like new," you expect at least the components to be there, possibly with some packaging damage, but all the pieces of whatever kit you purchased are supposed to be there. So it's Amazon and its warehouse that I'm disappointed with. In the warehouse, it is product handling and grading. I took a look at the summary. It led me to believe that the only flaws would be on the outside of the box, but the dye kit would be fine; however, I'm still on the lookout for a dye kit and will have to go to the trouble of returning this one and receiving a refund. As I examine what remains of this kirt, it appears to be enjoyable and simple to use; there appears to be blue dye on the bottles, indicating that someone had a good time; and the rubber bands are thick, making binding the fabric much easier. In your hands, thin bands have a tendency to snap. I was unable to mix any colors, so I am unable to comment on the dye's vibrancy or consistency. My recommendation is to only buy new items on Amazon; this isn't the first time I've had a similar experience. Last but not least, there was a 'liquid mould' two-part solution that arrived empty. (This was a long time ago. ).
This was a Christmas present for my daughter, and we've only had a chance to put it to use now that the weather has warmed up. There are two packets of dye in the box, each with the same colors, so you can dye for two different sessions. Because each packet contains a large amount of dye, I recommend using two scoops from the tiny scoop that comes with it for each bottle. Be prepared to pause and reload the colors because the bottles are quite small, perhaps 2 oz. Although larger bottles would be ideal, the smaller bottles aid in the creation of pastel colors. I only used one set of colors and ended up with over 25 pieces, though you could get away with 15 if you use very saturated colors. br>br>Hints for kits like these: wet the materials before tying them into designs and keep them wet while adding the dyes. Seal each item in Wal-Mart after it has been dyed. Allow 24 hours for the bags to sit. In a warmer place for 48 hours. Untie items after that time has passed, and either air dry them in the sun or dry them in the dryer before rinsing them out to keep the colors vibrant. I've rinsed them out in the bathtub and the washer, and both work fine; however, the washer is easier to just run on since cycle ((hint: go to the laundromat to do these tips))br>I do mine in the following order: br> Drybr> Rinsebr> Drybr> Washbr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr> Drybr tl: br>br>Tl: br>br>Tl: br>br> Drbr>Excellent product; I will definitely buy it again.
This kit was extremely simple to use and enjoyable for people of all ages. Tees, hoodies, and baby onesies were all dyed. The dye is extremely vibrant, and it retains its color even after being washed for the first time. The kit also includes gloves, a table cloth, and rubber bands. After you've dyed the projects, you'll need your own plastic bags to store them in.
