Questions & Answers

What was the reason that it was made in China while the label said it was made in the USA?

I received a palette knife that says Made in China, is obviously of poor quality, and doesn't have Bob's face on it The bristles of my brush look very nice too -- they're smooth, painted with a different shade of white, and show signs of being Made in the USA. As a guess, I would guess there are other sellers supplying the product (well, you should consider how Amazon stocks supplies to be able to meet delivery schedules), and they're There are genuinely poor quality products being sold However, I don't want to buy it since I like my half size round brush. It's a shame that Amazon doesn't do enough to fight this problem. The only way to be certain you're buying the real thing is to buy it directly on the company's site. I am willing to spend a few extra dollars for this.

There is a tiny sharp side to this knife? I mean, it is so thin that it could pass through ?

As well as being a great trait, that is also useful for cleaning the paint off It is mostly used to put snow on the mountains with the Knife. The device is capable of much more, however. It is possible to create an entire canvas using just a palette knife.

This is the small knife Bob Ross uses, isn't it?

It seems to be the case. My oil paintings have won't be the same without it. I've enjoyed using it for a long time. As a result, I used it quite often. Thank you. I hope this was helpful.

Is the lettering on it easy to scratch off? Would you mind if I didn't do that?

There is no need to scratch off the lettering. I often letter my brushes and knives with a brush or knife cleaner. Mineral spirits and other substances should not be brought into contact with You might lose some of the lettering in the process of getting the paint off if you get paint on them. In other words, if the lettering is critical, KEEP IT SAFE!

The straight edge does not exist
5/5

A straight edge is not found on the #5 and #10 knives. It took about 30 or 40 times for each knife to have the edges straightened by running them over a piece of heavier grit sand paper. In addition to this, I would like to mention that the handles of knives #5 and #10 had metal that wasn't properly mounted. Upon holding either of the knives vertically, you can clearly see that the metal is not perfectly aligned with the wood handle. With these knives straight out of the box, you're not likely to be 'Happy'. You should expect a higher quality product for the price you pay for Bob Ross signature products. This is a very poor quality product. If you were wondering why I gave 5 stars to all categories, it is because I am a fan of that particular category. As a result I find that bad reviews tend to be buried at the bottom of the review list and I don't see the bad ones. Therefore, it will be at the top of the review page since I gave it 5 stars in all categories. Basically, I would give ZERO points to these items if they weren't!.

The quality of the product is poor
3/5

As part of the purchase of Weber last year, Chart-Pak then sold the Ross knife line to Dixon, who further cheapened the knives to an extent that they are now worthless. The quality of these knives is similar to that of Artist Loft, but they are triple the price. I bought the 1" and the 2". I am so glad they are made in the USA and they are 2" wide. It seems as if the blade thickness of the Japanese knives(Weber) is almost double that of the Western knives. The result of companies getting so greedy that they are willing to sacrifice quality for profits is this situation.

It's great to have the brush Probably a knock-off of a real knife
3/5

Brush half the size of a round The look and feel are both great. There is the right logo on this, the paint looks smooth and even, and it says Made in the USA . It feels nice, and so far I am confident that it will work well. I haven't painted with it yet, but the bristles feel nice. A KNIFE UPDATE as of Therefore, I purchased the same knife from Bob Ross's official site, wanting to choose between the two and expecting to return it. There were no changes to the product that was sent - I apologize for the inconvenience The frame was made in China and was sloppy the Bob Ross face (which was advertised) was missing. There is no problem with Amazon here. My decision will be to keep both since they will both do the job. My disappointment, however, is a bit more substantial. A commemorative item that is as much a tool as it is a commemorative item is worth much more to me. There is no doubt that the quality of a 10 inch knife is considerably inferior. My expectation was an almighty knife, but I was surprised to find something quite different. "Made in China" is written on the label. No Bob Ross logo (but it looks like this). There are numerous spots where paint dripped, and it is uneven, blotchy, and bumpy. I have noticed that the metal part that connects the wood to the knife isn't flush or even with the wood all the way around and looks like it will break We are returning to the past. * * *Conclusion There must be some Amazon supplier problem, or fakes are getting mixed into the batch (there are plenty of reports about this). I don't think the brush is so poor that the company makes a poor knife. However, the brush is so nice and I don't think that's the case.

As far as I'm concerned it's still a great palette knife
4/5

I use it almost exclusively. It has been a long time since I used the Bob Ross palette knife, so long that it was rather rounded and not as straight as I would like. That was why I bought another one. A great knife, although this one didn't have a razor-flat edge as I would expect, it seemed to have a very slight roughness on the wide Despite not being able to see it, when I tried to scrape up oil paint from a glass palette, I found quite a bit of residue had been left In fact, I used some fine sand paper to sand it down, and it seems to have smoothed out much better after a couple of weeks. Despite its age, this knife is still excellent. Just make sure it's as sharp and straight as it should be (the first one I bought years ago was). My whole stash of palette knives all has the Bob Ross one, so I use it almost exclusively for painting. I appreciate it's way of operating more than the trowel, and that's why I always use it--it just makes more sense to me. It is shaped like a palette knife.
