I'd get in touch with the maker.
It's designed to hold solvent rather than paint.
What if you have no idea?
There is a single cup that can be removed and placed inside the container. The lid is held in place by two clips on either side. The brush washer is leak-proof and the perfect size for painting in the open air.

One of the closing clasps snapped off after a few weeks of use, rendering the bag useless. This was a significant investment for only a few weeks of use.
Based on the Amazon photos, this is significantly smaller than I anticipated. I've added my own photos to show that it's almost 2 inches shorter than a soda can, but the width is about the same. Anything taller than my 8-inch brush can stand in this can with the screen and not fall out, but anything taller will fall out and make a mess. The lid is held in place by two clasps, and the lid has a rubber gasket. I put the leak-proof capability to the test with water, and it works. Paint thinner, on the other hand, I'm not so sure about. I'm hoping I'll never need to know. br>Would I purchase this product again? No, I doubt it. I had expected it to be much larger for the price. I have three inexperienced painters in my house, and I believe we'll need a larger paint can. Alternatively, I suppose I could get them their own, but not for $18 each. I think I could make a cheaper solution by gluing a rubber gasket to the lid of a Mason jar. br>It's also made in China.
It would probably work fine if you only used very small brushes, but it's about the size of a VERY small pencil holder.
If you only have a 1" brush or smaller, this is the brush for you. It turned out to be a lot smaller than I had anticipated. If you're painting landscapes, you won't be able to use a 2" brush.
THIS IS NOT A WATERPROOF PRODUCT. I can't use it the way it's supposed to be used, and my turpenoid is all over the place! MY SUPPLIES AND MONEY HAVE BEEN WASTEED. BUYING IS A MISTAKE.
I enjoy painting in the most inconvenient locations imaginable. I have a bad habit of balancing my water cups on things that will cause them to fall or will simply ruin the cups due to paint. I bring this cup to the park with my paint, and I can fill it up with water before I leave, and it doesn't spill or leak. I'm a slob, but I always remember to replace the top on this bad boy when I'm finished painting- It's a lifesaver because I knock it over and smack it around all the time by accident, and it's never leaked.
It is, in fact, leak-proof. proof! When one of the dogs slammed into my desk and dumped two of the other supposedly leak-proof containers, I was just about to replace the lid. There are proof containers everywhere. The only one of the three that didn't leak was this one! This is what I'll be getting when it's time to replace my brush cleaners.
The container is well-sealed, and the water, solvents, or other needed fluids are kept where you want them, not on the table or on the floor, allowing the brushes to soak, dip, or clean as needed. An excellent item.
