The answer is no. Each side of the measures is marked with inches, while the other is marked with centimeters. There is a fair amount of thickness and strength to the tape. I love it!
There is no metal here. This has been my electronic companion for a very long time and I still find it to be of superior quality.
From the angle I am looking at it, it appears to me to be more red/orange in color. It has been practical to have around the house for when I order items from Amazon that I need to reference size, as I have used it often. Handy in my desk drawer when I order anything that I need to reference size.

I believe that. I had to buy a new one because I broke the one I had that was a gift from my fabric supplier. The product appears to be very durable and easy to use for the price. The fact that there is no button outside to press to wind up the tape is appealing to me. Reeling in the tape is as simple as pressing the center. As well, it is padded and soft to the touch, which is quite nice. When I use the old unit I have with the button, it sometimes gets stuck and won't work. A few times I had to press it for it to work, which is an inconvenience. Because I just got it today, I will not be able to comment on how it will hold up after using it, but I will be sure to report back The current state of my project is satisfactory to me. A quick update Even though I purchased it years ago, it still runs like a charm. To spare myself from having to buy another one in a different color, I'm getting one in a different color.

Excellent leather housing, especially the leather container. I like the leather container into which the tape rolls. It is a bit bulky to carry in your bag. The needle I use for sewing is not this one. Shopping for items that I carry to measure is my favorite way to shop. As far as my needs are concerned, it works perfectly.
