Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use it for faux fur?

The backing for faux fur comes in a variety of types. There are smooth pieces and then there are ones that look more like I believe it would make a line that you can see well enough to cut or sew if you are planning to use it for marking a cutting or sewing line. tried it on some microfiber cloth with short fur and it worked well for that too.

Is pounce chalk an acceptable material to use ?

I am going to say yes to you. It is true that I refill my pounce chalk locally when mine run low, although I have no documentation to substantiate that

When did it get made? Where was ?

The Taiwanese

The chalk pen is refillable, but where can I get refills?

You can find refills at Madam Sew as well as Joann fabric at Joann

The smallest chalk marker in the world
5/5

There was a nice packaging for the chalk marker. There is a clicking sound when it is used, and it is easy to use. In general, this is a good product. The chalk dispensing is very precise, and it works well on different types of fabric. I wish the marker pen was slightly longer for my large hands, but other than that, this is a good product. Also, I just bought a yellow chalk marker, I have a red one as well, and they are both nice. A yellow color will work better with darker fabrics, while a red color will work better with lighter fabrics. This marker holds quite a bit of chalk, so I'll be able to use it for a while before I need to refill it.

The simplest, neatest, quickest way to save time
5/5

In a nutshell, There is no doubt this product is worth purchasing! A neat feature of the "dosing wheel technology" is that it does not require any batteries. If you hold the wheel steadily as you draw, you can actually hear the wheel clicking as it rolls. It's quite smooth and clean. The great thing about the tool is that it's so easy to use that you can easily erase and redo if your line isn't perfectly straight. In the other hand, if the camera is in your I love it. In addition to the fact that I can refill this pen, I like how it should last for quite some time.

This Madame Sew marking pen has a fine line, never needs sharpening, and leaves a clear, flush line
5/5

The pen feels like a sharpie and leaves a clear, sharp line. The other reviewer said the grip was too short, but I find it well sized for my hands. It is not too big, and has a responsive feel whether it is making straight lines or making Chalk has a very fine powdery texture, applies smoothly and can be easily removed with a flick. It's clear how much chalk is inside (arrived very full), so it's obvious how much chalk is in it. I give it a thumbs * * *Updates I have a yellow pen as well as a white one, and it works great, Unlike solid markers, which leave a tighter line on smooth fabric than on very loose or open textured fabric, the markers leave a tighter line on smooth fabric. As it uses very little powder per line, I can see it lasting quite a while, and I also like that it is refillable.

Removing items takes a long time
3/5

The yellow chalk marker I bought is to assist me in creating cozy bowls for Christmas Rather than rely on my new-found skills, I will use my old-fashioned skills For years, I have been using chalk pencils made out of old-fashioned chalk. I can remove the marks with an eraser made specifically for that or with a stiff brush. They may be difficult to sharpen, but I can remove them with an eraser or brush. My Madam Sew chalk marker was damaged by the wheel at the tip becoming stuck on the Rather than mark on the wrong side of the fabric, I decided to flip the project over and mark on the right. The directions indicated all I had to do after sewing was to rub off the chalk marks or lightly wash them away. I was not affected by this. As I cleaned off the chalk marks with a clean fabric, it became stained with yellow, but the chalk marks were not completely removed from the front of the project. My presser foot became dusty with the chalk, and I felt I had to clean out the bobbin case as well. In addition to water, I needed soap and rubbing alcohol to clean the chalk and rubbing towel. I tried dish soap but it After washing the entire project with laundry detergent and rubbing a towel on it, I used washing powder to lift the yellow traces from the project. Further, I had to use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to remove the yellow chalk marks from the top of the sewing machine insert, which was more work than I wanted when I had a gifting deadline. I could return the item, but I don't want To my surprise, I was glad to order only one for a trial period. My patience is not high enough to deal with this notion that I know is going to help, but instead creates.

You should be careful when buying online
3/5

As advertised, this item is not removable. There is a reason why this isn't meant for white fabrics. It made sense since anything labeled as quilting or sewing chalk is mostly used by quilters and sewers for making measurements and is meant to be washed off. I washed it off but it did not come The stains didn't come out of the white flowers on the expensive Kanvas Studio Poppy Promenade fabric line, nor did they come out of the white high quality Kona Cotton fabric. In spite of the pearly white quilting thread, it did not wash out. My understanding is that I tested it before using it. Took scraps of fabric the same as the one I used for the quilt and rolled it into several lines I removed it either by brushing it off or by dampening the qtip with some water. The decision to follow through with it felt right to me. This chalk has a permanent effect when it's on for more than a few minutes as the dye in it sticks to the surface. And this quilt is for a friend of the family who is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Because I don't have the time (or the money, for that matter) to simply say lesson learned and build I can only hope the stain removing treatment I'm using will eventually help me remove it. There is no way I will ever. Then and now. We are sure to buy something from Madam Sew again in the future.

Thought it was a good idea
3/5

There are a lot of bite marks on the little toothy wheel. This concept is nice but the little wheel doesn't seem to want to They charge a lot for this, but it is still not worth the money. Stretch knits rely on the teeth to pull the fibers apart. Better on fabrics made of woven threads.

Stain stays clean even after washing and does not leave a mess behind
5/5

Among the marking tools I have tried, this has been my favorite one after using it on a quilt for a long time. I found it easy to get used to the width of the tip. I preferred the wide tip for stencil use over the pounce pad, but the wide tip also made it a little more difficult when using stencils. However, I used up half of the chalk, and it can be refilled. There is no mess to be found here. While the product is on the project, it is fully washed out. In my opinion, it had to be my favourite Whenever you need to mark something, this is your first choice.

It appears to work, but it It seems to work fine
3/5

Having said that, if you are seeking precision, this won't be good enough. It spills and bleeds way too much. As well, the dispensing wheel only turns one way. On the other hand, it doesn't seem to spin when going the other direction.
