Purchasing these hooks was part of my personal hair maintenance routine. As far as I am aware, they weren't able to be done during the first part of this pandemic and even though they are designed to do just that, they work highly! This has allowed me to tame my locs and maintain my natural look while waiting for this pandemic thing to go away. These are well finished and feel comfortable in the hand. They are well crafted and the prices are reasonable. It has been a pleasure working with.
After getting a few kits for Christmas, I was upset that some don't include it. It may take some time for those to fill the need, but these should do so for some time.
The handle hurts my hand. If it were bigger, it would be easier. I was able to find one at Hobby Lobby.
My friend's baby girl is having a baby girl, so I bought these to make a latch hook rug for her. The device survived that project but failed to survive the follow-up project I was just taking the latch off the hook when it just popped off. While making another rug for the baby's older brothers, I am in the middle of another project. (Since you have to make one for any baby that has older siblings It has a mesh of 75. Herrschners sold their hook for a three dollars, so I bought it there. Mesh count is 75 mesh and mesh count is 5. I have a huge project on a 5 mesh in the works. There is a large rug of the Last Supper made by Shillcraft (a sister company of MCG textiles). It will be hung in the church where my husband is a minister A pastor's studies are going well for him.
My brother and I bought this set when we decided to try latchhook again after 35 years This is my 40th year. They are way, way more durable and easier to use than the hook tools included with some of those kits.
These hooks work much better for latching large rugs than they do for latching small rugs. After a long search, I finally found an old one and finished the project with it. They are harder to hold, but they are still easier to pull through as well. Projects take much longer to complete than expected, but are of decent price.
