Questions & Answers

What are the pros and cons of this knitting needle?

Yes, of course! The knitted version of this design looks beautiful. The only thing I need is chunky needles, I use size 8 and 9 (as long as I'm doing more than one project at the same time).

My first experience with bulky yarn is unknown to me. The number of skeins of the big ball that are needed to make a blanket for a baby is about how many?

Your crochet or knitting will depend on how tight or loose you make it. With two skeins, you will be able to make a good-sized receiving blanket. With a single skein of yarn, I made a comfort blanket for my granddaughter. It isn't big enough for her to cover herself with it is just big enough for her to hold onto while she sleeps or when she is So that's my attempt at helping you.

Is this yarn different than the smaller ones at walmart in terms of amount of pieces?

This large ball of yarn is the equivalent of three of the little ones at Walmart. The percentage of 5 is higher than the percentage of

To crochet with this yarn, what size hook is used?

According to Bernat, K is the right size. Nevertheless, this yarn is very versatile and I have worked with everything from color K to color In most cases, I use the letter L or the letter

Despite its ease of work, this yarn is also one of the most expensive
5/5

I've worked with better yarns, but this is by far the best. There are so many layers layered on top of each other. When I was pregnant with my son one year ago, this was the only yarn I used. Since then, this has been the only yarn I use. Baby yarn is notorious for shedding, so make sure you don't buy it if your baby chews on fabric, like mine does. A great feature of this fabric is that it doesn't shed, doesn't stretch, doesn't unravel, or tear. In addition to the blanket I made for my sister, I also made a hat for my nephew using sweet dove fabric. Baby lilac is used on the border as well, and the color is different from that found in the lilac dove but it does not make it look out of place. My usual hook size is 8 mm and I do either a single crochet or double crochet (depending on how much breathability is desired). My children like to keep their crib blankets in single crochet because it makes them super heavy and warm. When we make a blanket for our son, I use double crochet. Even if the blanket covers his face, he will be able to breathe without difficulty thanks to the double crochets. This is also a thick product so there is no way it could compress enough to get around his neck and strangle him so I am comfortable leaving it in his crib. With single crochet, I use 3 big ball skeins to make a baby blanket that measures about 47" x 47". With double crochet, I made a blanket for a crib that measures 19" x 22" and used less than one big ball. I also made a blanket for a car seat from just Quite a bit of yarn is used in this pattern.

The first two balls were perfect, but the third was not
3/5

Originally I had only ordered one ball of yarn, but when I received the second ball, I absolutely loved it. It was soft, plush, it puffy and just everything I had been looking for. On the second ball, it seemed as if the yarn had been pressed flat. Even though it was still soft, the ball just did not feel the same as the first ball, as seen in the pictures. The color was a little off, the quality wasn't the same as it was on the first ball, and it felt a bit thin in hand. I ordered different colors (making a blanket for a co worker's baby) and they had the same quality. My fingers are crossed that the second ball for her blanket will remain the same in quality.

I'm very, very pleased with it
4/5

Firstly, I used two and a half full sized balls of yarn in order to make the baby blanket. There is one question that many of you have, but it isn't often answered on this site. In addition to this yarn being a baby blanket, I also made it as a gift for my friend's baby shower and everyone wanted to touch, hold, and cuddle There is something beautiful about the yarn. I like the softness of it. There is a bit of thickness to it, but it appears to hold up very well and be easy to wash (super delicate) or spot clean in case of accidental spills, which is ideal for babies and children. In this case, the yarn only had one real flaw - it had broken and been knotted back together at a few places, creating little bumps in the fabric. It didn't look like it was going to rip or fall apart, but it wasn't always as pretty as it could be. A simple pattern is also highly recommended. Complex lacy patterns don't show up well in the yarn, but seed stitch or a hybrid of knit stitch and a few rows of a yarn over lace pattern do look amazing and make it all the more fun for kids to snuggle with.

This yarn is beautiful
5/5

A friend of mine is expecting a baby, so I used this yarn to make a blanket for her. You'll enjoy knitting and crocheting with this yarn. It is both soft and light. In order to make the blanket shown in the pictures, I used two colors. Around the edge of the page, there are a series of "marching elephants" that use taupe color. There is no other choice for me except Bernat Baby Blanket Big Ball yarn upon which I am currently working on a new baby blanket. It was a very fast and easy project to complete, and I am very happy with the outcome. Don't hesitate to try it. I am certain you will be hooked too!.

The baby blanket I made with this yarn looked great
5/5

There is a lot of softness and thickness to this yarn. It took me more than one skein to finish the baby blanket I bought at a fabric store in my area. It was too far for me to go back to the store to buy another, so I ordered online. I was worried that the colors were different due to the different lot number. They matched perfectly, exactly what I was looking for. To create the border, I bought a small piece of dove grey yarn. I found it difficult to determine how many skeins I needed for a project due to the unclear label, almost as if there was some missing printing. Furthermore, it wasn't clear what colors were included, so I chose the gray to match the dove. My friend loved the blanket I chose, so I was lucky to choose the right one. The product is a repeat purchase for me.

Yarns like this are my favorites! During my time working with this yarn, I found it to be one of the softest and easiest to work As a result of using this yarn to make a baby blanket for a friend, I bought more to make a toddler blanket for the same child, and enough Bernat Blanket to make afghans for all of my children and my sister
5/5

There is never a split in it Occasionally a splice will occur within a ball, but that happens infrequently and because the yarn is so fluffy it is easy to hide. It is also machine washable, which is a big bonus for things you will use around the home.

Do not use a dye lot that has been expired
3/5

It remains to be seen whether I will be able to use As well as skeins just not being enough to finish my project (my fault), the last one in the skein pile is substantially lighter in color than the rest. As before, I am responsible for not checking the A mistaken assumption was made that the dye lots would be consistent within It is therefore advisable to be careful when buying! When you arrive, be sure to check your dye lot. There will never be another time when I buy yarn online! going to be a blanket for my grandchild - it was to be made from wool It is an unfortunate situation, but despite the yarn I bought at the store, I am starting over again.

The yarn is soft and plush, but there are way too many knots in some skeins
3/5

Two of them had a lot of knots and were difficult to assemble. Of the rest, all were great, soft, plush, and squishy. There are six joinings (and ugly knots) in the first quarter of the skein, so one of those two will be unusable. I couldn't return it or replace it because it was already too late. It might be prudent to ball these as soon as you get them so you can evaluate how many joins there are and replace them.
