As a Christmas gift, I bought it for my 8-year-old son. Due to the fact that my daughter is just a baby, I didn't have the patience to teach her Her excitement was evident when she opened this present. There are plastic crochet hooks that are not great quality, and they are quite light in weight. It is okay to work with yarn. Although the instructions were terrible, there were a lot of mistakes. My 8-year-old was confused by the instructions, and after carefully reviewing them, he was satisfied. She eventually had to be taught by me.

Despite the kit's simplicity, it was not easy to complete. There were detailed pictures included in the instructions to explain each step, but the user was left to jump between the stages in the process to accomplish various stages in the process, leaving out some details that a person without prior knowledge of the process would not have known. The steps I needed to follow eventually had to be demonstrated to me by an expert. In addition to the yarn vs crochet hook issue, another issue was revealed. Despite being very thin and light, the thread had a lot of grip- Working with the bulky crochet hook resulted in the crochet hook falling apart and losing its weight. Besides the instructions included in the kit, which could be found in any crochet book, this kit didn't really provide much value. No matter how much it costs, this is a poor buy.

I don't know how to describe my book, but it wasn't properly cut. Even though the top edges of the book were attached, it easily ripped apart when trying to open it. Two of the bottom corners were folded in when it was cut, so they are now too big (see It would be nice to be able to replace the book on Amazon, but I don't see that option. There is something I like about It is very easy to follow the directions since they are color coded. The illustrations are clear and the directions are step by step. Here is a great crochet set for beginners that you can make. Despite being an adult, I was able to follow all instructions given to me when I first started crocheting. To create flowers, first create a Swatch or a small project with each type of stitch (chain, single, and double crochet)(the book does not specifically emphasize this) before attempting a flower.
