The tarnishing on them is well-known, and I was tired of having to clean them once a month (or more) with tarnish cleaners. I hate the smell of that stuff! I have found these little papers to be very useful. Put one or two of them on the bottom of your jewelry box and close it. It has now been a couple of months since I originally purchased it, and not a single spot has appeared on it. You will smell so much better and it is well worth it!.

My silver jewelry (rings, bracelets) was held in place by the tabs. Small see-through plastic bags were put on top of the jewellery. It really works to prevent tarnishing, from what I can tell.
