I fill the washer with water by placing it in my standard bathtub and using my shower head (which has a hose). It's also easier to drain the tub with the machine in it, and yes, the machine is light enough to easily take in and out of the tub as needed.
Gravity works without the need to raise the machine; I installed mine in my bathtub and simply lower the hose when it's time to drain, and the water drains quickly. Some people say you'll need a platform to lift the machine, but I don't think so. When I'm done, I lift it and shake it to get any remaining water out of the hose before putting it away. I also put inexpensive sponges under each leg because it moves when you use it and scuffs my bathtub. The sponges serve as a barrier between the tub and the rest of the house.
Place the tub on a table or something higher than where it will be drained. I drain it into my bathtub, so I store it on a small plastic shelf. Then I load my clothes into the washer and fill it up with my hand-held shower; it has an overflow outlet, so it won't overflow if you forget to fill it. On the small filter inside the washer tub, I fill it to the second from the top notch. Add low-sudsing detergent (dreft) or arm and hammer with oxy, but only a few drops at a time; it will mix well. Set the timer for 9 minutes, or 15 minutes if the job is more difficult or dirty. Rinse after washing, draining, and re-filling. Spin for 5 minutes after washing and draining. Remove and hang to dry with a fan or an upright drier with the heater at the bottom. (If it's just a shir or two, 2 minutes will suffice.) You didn't rinse thoroughly enough or used too much soap if they dried stiff. This machine cleans so well that no soap is required, but I still use it for work clothes.

By pouring in the, I was able to complete several loads. This is a fantastic little device. Using a bucket to pour in the water, I completed several loads. With the help of a dollar store turkey baster, my brilliant sister devised a solution! Simply cut the narrow tip off the hose and insert it. Make an X on the top and insert it into your faucet. Although you must keep an eye on the water pressure, this solution is simple, inexpensive, and does not necessitate any plumbing knowledge.
Update: I've had it for a few weeks and have learned a few "tricks" and tricks. br>br>I put this in my tub and had no problems with it. To balance the machine and reduce vibrations, I use a sponge from our bathroom. I also purchased a 30-inch showerhead diverter from my local hardware store. a brass "barbed" adaptor, and a 1/2" faucet supply hose *Before you buy, make sure they all work together in the store. * Unfortunately, 8 forgot to bring the hose that came with the package, but I zip-tied it anyway. To get a good seal, I tied it a couple of times. I always leave a little slack to prevent any stray leaks from getting on the machine; it's much easier to turn on the shower and fill/rinse the machine this way. This was $30, but it was money well spent! I'm a 6'5" guy who strained his back repeatedly filling the machine. To get rid of the suds, you can rinse and spin. br>br>When using this machine, remember that "less is more," and that if something appears to be enough, it is already too much. To calculate a decent load, take whatever fits in the spin basket plus one additional, light item. You should see a vortex when the wash cycle is running. Overloading creates a whirlpool effect, in which your clothes float and spin at the top, unable to be washed. Remove each item one at a time until the whirlpool is complete. br>br>You can spin and wash at the same time, with the spinner draining regardless of whether the middle knob is set to drain or not, and the wash tub draining whatever overflows if you overfill it. Make sure to plan ahead. br>br>Noise is comparable to that of an air conditioner, and vibrations can occur depending on where it is placed and how loud it is. I balance with a sponge and absorb some vibrations with it. It's not particularly elegant, but it gets the job done. br>br>I reuse my hot water by topping off the wash tub each time; the water may appear to be filthy, but it's fine because soap is already present. Dry cleaners reuse their chemical wash hundreds of times and your clothes still look great, plus you'll rinse it all out. All the coins, the back-and-forth, the waiting for machines to open, making sure I had enough quarters at the time, and, more often than not, the entire day had to be devoted to laundry. So I did some research, reading reviews and watching videos of various machines. br>br> This one stood out because it's reasonably priced and, according to reviews, does a fantastic job. Because I live in the Bay Area and this item ships to Los Angeles, I received it in a matter of days (excluding holidays and weekends). The box appeared to be in good condition, and the ties were unclipped. With a whiff of "new plastic" and awe, there it was, exactly as it appeared in the photos. It was simple to unbox; simply unclip the ties and lift the top section off. There's a new washer in the house! br>br>I snatched up the instruction book and began thumbing through it. It's in Engrish, as others have joked, with gems like "choke the dial" and "put staff not under. " " I tossed it aside because it's pointless; most reviews will tell you everything you need to know. If you need it, here's my address: br>br>Step One: Place a smidgeon of soap, but not more than a heaping tablespoon, or the soap will take an eternity to rinse out. You don't have to measure anything; just make an educated guess and proceed with caution. br>Step 2: Organize your materials. Place one item at a time in the washing machine, sorting your clothes into different loads such as towels, basics, denim, and so on. Fill the machine with basics until it's just over half full. Due to the heavier nature of towels and denim, they should be washed in smaller loads. br>Step 3: Organize your information. Fill with water and make sure the middle dial is set to "Normal" or "Soft. " The "inlet hose" is useless right out of the box because you'll need an adaptor, which the manufacturer assumed you'd already have. A rubber gasket is present on one end, but not on the other. Open the spinner basin and toss in a few items, making sure it's evenly loaded (roughly half the wash load). Close the lids on the bins and place the plastic insert on top of the laundry. Is it still set to drain on the middle dial? Good. Leave it. Make a 5 on the "Spin" dial. This is where you can spin and rinse if the "inlet hose" is connected to an adaptor. If not, spin out the suds and quickly wash in clean water before spinning again. During the spin cycle, the machine will vibrate, and if you think it is too much, stop the spin cycle and rearrange your items. Everything is damp rather than wet when it comes out of the oven. To avoid a musty odor in the future, I set the machine aside with the lids open. This is what I'll say: Don't overwork the machine; do a few washes and then let it cool and rest for a few hours, say, while your laundry dries on a rack. It's designed for daily loads (every day or every other day) rather than a single laundry day ("laundry day"). br>br>It's a fantastic small machine that cleans your clothes as well as most large washers. It takes a little more effort on your part to tend to each load, but it's much easier than running up and down flights of stairs, digging through the sofa for coins, and fighting for the next machine. I plan on putting this on a cart so I can store it more easily, and I'll look for an adaptor that will fit the inlet hose. br>br>As time goes on, I will update this. It's a very simple machine that cleans the clothes and saves me money right away compared to the few dollars it costs at the laundromat for each wash.

We moved from a third-floor apartment with basement laundry to a small duplex with free laundry just across the building. Unfortunately, the machines appear to be from the 1970s, with rust on all of the lint wires and other components, so we ended up purchasing this machine for a few smaller jobs. To be honest, I'm not sure how long it'll last, but when it does, it's fantastic! br>br>Our first load was a disaster; the instructions are terrible, and water was leaking out the top sides of the bin, indicating that we put in more water than was required. We contacted customer service, and they requested that we return it via mail! Right, because no one is going to pay a ridiculous amount of money out of their own pocket to return something this large! We resolved to give it one or two more tries. I used less water the second time, and the leaking stopped, thank goodness. Finding the right amount of clothing/water to put in this machine is a delicate balance. It works much better than I expected, and we've been able to handle large loads with it. It will be well worth the hundred dollars if it lasts. We paid 00, and if it messes up in the next few weeks, we'll be better off going to the laundry mat. It's not easy to use a manual drain machine.
