What is the length of the wall where it extends? What is 5?" ?

There are holes for screwing in the bird screen. Do they make it with a bird screen?

You can buy it from Canada, if you're willing to travel to Canada to do so. I mean it! Vents like this are not allowed for sale in the U.S. They may do so only with a provided screen, but in Canada, they can do so without restriction. When I drove to their campus, I was told that this was the case. The factory is able to sell one of these vents (with the attached screen) directly to people. So I created a design that serves the same purpose but incorporates an additional snap-in An image of a bird displayed on a I chose a vent that has an optional 5 inch by 6 inch snap-on flap instead of this particular one - it has 4 plastic louvers for sealing, as well as an optional 5 inch by 6 inch snap-on flap A grid of 1/2-inch squares makes up the cover (with 1/2-inch square openings), which makes up the front of the snap-on cover. It is a case of overadding. I suppose that you could fasten an insect screen to the front of the plastic grill with "epoxy- based adhesive" if you need to modify this covering with an insect screen added to the existing vinyl grid. A made-up word The purpose of- Any hardware store will have plastic available for purchase. Please bear in mind that it is not up to code anywhere in the U.S. You'd better not use it for dryer exhaust if it's to be used that way. It'll clog quickly with lint and create a fire hazard, so be careful. This kind of vinyl louvered vent is available on Amazon in many different colors with optional accessory grates. I wish you all the best.

Does cold air get into your home if you live near the Canada border in the northeast in winter?

That shouldn't be a problem if the flap is properly installed, since the flap closes by gravity if no air is venting I guess that you take the risk of living far from the border if you live anywhere but near it.

Is anyone familiar with how to create a bug screen for this type of project?

The answer is yes. I wanted a design that was as practical and durable as possible, which took a lot of engineering, much thinking, and many trips to different tradesmen to come up with. Make sure they have manufacturing capabilities) and ask them to make one for you, and be willing to pay them for their time, effort, You should also be happy while you're doing it. A vent can be screened for a fee in the US. There's nothing wrong with the dryer vent, just not a dryer vent.

This product was just what I needed to vent my microwave
5/5

The material seems well made and the seal around the flap is excellent. I wanted to upload more images since it was the one thing I wanted to have more when making a decision whether or not to buy. The kit I needed to vent my microwave outside was exactly what I was looking for.

There will be no more dogs or children making noise! My god, I'm so sorry! After buying this, I let it sit in the box for about a month until I finally found the energy and time to replace it, and what a difference it makes
5/5

In my old model, the seal was flimsy and there was no real seal inside. There was just a very loose hanging flap that was supposed to keep out backdrafts, but it did not work. Is there a way that it lets in sunlight as well? My house needed to be prepared for the new one, so I had to rip out the old I cut the channel locks with aviation snips, a hammer and chisel, and used the aviation snips for the hammering. Since my house is brick, I simply used a hammer and chisel to clean off the old sealant that had been applied. After a few light taps, I was able to scrape off the sealant with just the chisel angled at a sharp angle to prevent damaging the brick. Using Tuff Stuff spray insulation foam, I was able to close up large gaps that were present. To make sure that any gaps where still remaining are filled, they sprayed some more. For this, I inserted plastic anchors to hold in the screws and sealed the seams with sealant to prevent moisture and air from getting in. As soon as the screw was tight, I sealed the backside of the door with a thin layer of sealant and covered the edge with a thin layer of sealant. After that, I used foil tape to seal it all up against the drywall on the inside. used 1/4" wide weather stripping around the exhaust side of the range hood to help it seal tightly against the exhaust area of the range hood. To help direct more air outside, I seal up the fan area of the range hood. The work is done now. There is so much less noise at my house! It is no longer necessary to bang on the old flimsy flap, I can no longer hear the loud neighbor kids, I have no longer to hear their small yappy dog and our house no longer smells of food when we are cooking. If you take the time to make sure it is air tight on the range hood side, I have a feeling this will last a very.

Buying a vent on Amazon is the best choice
5/5

The bottom line *This is the best exhaust vent you can buy (especially in comparison to what's available at the big box store). In any case, the thickness of the metal and the weather stripping, together with the weighted vent door, make this an excellent product. I highly recommend that you install it behind vinyl siding if you are installing it on vinyl You won't have to worry about it for the lifetime of the house (probably). Orient yourself to the instruction manual of your manufacturer ) I opted to install this exhaust vent behind my siding, just as many others did. For the project to be completed, it added a day of work and $50 toward tools and materials The supply of. The vent is of great quality
5/5

A 4" round version of this vent is used to vent a dryer, and two 3-inch versions are used to vent a furnace The first two vents are 1/4"x10" and are for grilles and stoves with downdrafts. As a result of UV damage and age, I've had too many plastic vents fail and break, so this was my choice when it came time to replace the house. This is a nice way to downsize A protected spout stands out enough to allow it to clear J-shaped obstructions The underlayment is formed from foam and channel. The installation instructions should be updated to include new vinyl siding it would be a shame if anyone had to caulk the siding onto a wall as instructed. Trying to fit the duct over the range hood outlet proved to be the only challenge. In spite of the correct size of the duct, the corner attachments on the inside of the sheet metal obstruct it. In order to slip these over the range outlet, I cut and bent them outwards. I was not able to have problems hooking up to the downdraft of a round by rectangular boot.

It's possible to find a better version
5/5

There is no match for this vent hood, compared to those I have seen. Not plastic in the least, it is solid, heavy, and easy to install. A good price. I expect it to last for a long time. Broan's range hood produces even more noise than our previous cheap plastic hood because the ducts are large enough to let a greater volume of air escape. Almost no sound can now be heard on low, and only a pleasant "whoosh" can be heard The upgrade is an excellent one, and we recommend repurchasing Roofing projects involve siding.
