As far as recharging the battery is concerned, it does what it's supposed to do, but there are a couple of issues that keep it from getting It's the third charger stand that I've bought, since we have a lot of players in our home, each of which is from a different brand. Since the controllers don't sit in the cradles as well as with this one, it is easy for them to be out of place and not be charged. Additionally, the indicator lights are located in the middle of the stand, so if you place it under a shelf or something you may not see them. Other chargers have an indicator on the front so that it can be seen.

There has never been a worse charge station than this one. Getting the controller in the right position is a very tricky task that requires very precise movements. The rechargeable batteries that came with my series X were not working. When I had my old Xbox One I had a similar set up Whenever there are issues, there are no issues. Although this is a great product, as with others I have seen it to be very stubborn when it comes to fitting. I was walking into the room as I was going to sleep and the red light had flashed. With the back plate kit you can charge old and new (series x/s) controllers at the same time! I got exactly what I was looking for. So far they are holding charge through entire gaming sessions with plenty of juice to spare! I have only had these for about a month, so can't make any statement about battery life long term, but so far they are holding charge without the need of charging!.
