Switches from Otemu are installed on it. You can get them with most budget keyboards, but if you want cherry or gateron, you'd have to pay roughly 40-45 dollars There is a difference of 80 dollars here.
I did put gateron milky yellows in mine, but you must cut off two pins and sand the contacts for them to work in the socket as gateron contacts are larger than those in the socket.
Selected User Reviews For Mechanical Keyboard Wired Gaming Keyboard with Blue Switches LED Backlit 87 Keys N-Key Rollover Computer Keyboard for PC Gamers, Black…
As part of my quest into mechanical keyboards, I bought a couple of keyboards in the $50 - $70 range The price range is between $80 and $100. These weren't worth the paper they were printed on. I would be able to type for a couple of minutes before it stopped working. I had to re-seat the USB cable every time I woke up my computer with the other one. Having now bought a third and a fourth computer keyboards, I plan on buying a fifth. There were no dedicated arrow keys on the third one, which was too small and too small. The user interface is very, very annoying. A mushy key design may be interpreted as a blue key design in the fourth. All of them had problems with the multi-user environment as well It remains an enigma to me why they don't However, I admit that part might have been my fault as well, but in any case, they were pretty useless. This is my fifth mechanical keyboard and I have finally found one that I like. It does not only work right out of the box, it is also less expensive. Arrow keys are dedicated to it, which I use quite a bit. There is a delete key, and it is one color. The only disadvantage of this product is that it takes up a lot of space. It is, however, pleasing to the eye. The color is a light bluish shade. It was also easier for me to read the characters on the keycaps of this keyboard, a challenge I had with some of the other models. It was very hard to read those dang keys. As a whole, I think this is a great keyboard. I ended up buying a second one for another computer because I liked it so much. A brief update The next day, I ended up picking up 2 more full sized keyboards, whereby I now have four of them.
After changing from a full size keyboard to this smaller keyboard, I had to adapt a bit, but I feel very comfortable again after learning a few shortcuts, plus I enjoy the nice colors, which are very pleasing to the eye and help with the different lighting patterns while typing or playing games. Despite the fact that it's a modern font, the font is bold and big enough that I can easily read it. The reason for the change was that some of the letters were missing in my old keyboard, and I was glad I made the switch. My desk is much smaller now, so this suits me much better. The keyboard is now one of my favorite things to have around. In addition to the keyboard being able to be raised a bit at the back (for one level) and the light adjustable from dark to full and several patterns, the monitor can also be lifted in front. Whenever you type the keys, the color is always the same, but it's a nice, soft blue.
A single color is displayed in the info
key backlight It comes in blue, white, and teal, with eight different light modes including the last key pressed and a water drop effect, along with various brightness and speed settings
pros the switches are removable and hot-swappable There were no tools included in the box for removing keycaps or switches. Also, the backlight and media functions were swappable, but the bottom row was standard for keycap replacements. The switch puller will have to be purchased. I may have to find some pliers and hope I don't damage the switches when I attempt to pull The connector on this switch is not the standard replaceable one. Buying this keyboard in order to replace switches is not a good idea. You would waste time, money, and your sanity by using a keyboard and switches that are broken. When that is what you want, buy a PCB that is designed for this purpose.
The container was made of quality printed cardboard, not pasteboard or brown cardboard. The keyboard was bubble-wrapped Both the package and accessories were individually wrapped. There is a nice sense of solidity and weight to the keyboard. There are feet made from firm elastic material that keep it on the desk. A keyboard comes with instructions in both English and Chinese, extra key switches and pullers for the key caps As a result of not being individually wrapped, some of the replacement switches had bent pins My only complaint with the packaging is the way it looks. In addition to a nice molded end and a velcro cable management tie, the USB cable also comes with a velcro cable keeper. It's nice to see this. It has several light patterns for various games upon powering up, before all keys illuminate and the LEDs on the sides start a 'breathing' effect. Several light patterns are built into the keyboard to facilitate certain Game patterns can be customized and key lighting levels can be adjusted. There is a bit of a funky font on the keycaps, but they are readable nonetheless. Because I touch type, it does not matter much what the font looks like. Layout is based on ANSI standards It has a rectangular return key with the characters Above, you'll find the key. As the force of your key press is transmitted to the backing plate, the Cherry Blue compatible switches have a responsive click feel and sound. However, sometimes you hear a faint ping and echo. On my IBM Model M keyboard I also get that from time to time. Although you can pull the keycap off with the device, you have to force it onto the keycap as it is tight. It is impossible for the prongs of the switch puller to grip anything, so I could not get it to work. The Pros - The construction is of good quality and has a solid feel to it. I must mention*br I must mention*br I must mention*br The heft is nice As long as you keep it on your desktop, it stays there. I must mention*br On the USB cable, there is a Velcro cable tie. I must mention*br Both the brightness and the number of side LEDs on the keycaps can be customized. I must mention*br Light patterns can be created based on your preferences. The cons are There is a pingy echo when you press a hard key. I must mention*br I must mention*br I can't seem to get the switch puller.
Gaming is my son's passion, so I gave him this keyboard. His goal was to find a new keyboard that had LCD lights, and this one matched his expectations. As this is a mechanical keyboard, you may notice that it produces a loud noise when you are typing. Those are the things he enjoys! You can change the brightness of the LED lights on the keyboard, and the lights themselves are nicely backlit. The lighting on both the keyboard and the side of the keyboard has its own My son loves all of the functions on this keyboard. I'm so happy he bought.
