Do not be hesitant. Every other positive review you'll find says it all: this stick is well worth the money. It's most likely classified as an "entry level" stick, but I'd classify it as a mid-tier stick at an entry-level price. br>br>Pros: Parts from Sanwa, customization options, and multi-platform compatibility system use (and out-of-the-box functionality for most systems), high-quality materials (nice and heavy), and Mayflash's website offers a lot of support. br>br>Cons: In my opinion, there is only one drawback, and it is more of a nuisance than a disadvantage. For this to work on the PS3/4 and Xbox 360/One, you'll need to use one of the original controllers. So you're essentially plugging this stick into a standard controller, which then connects to your console as usual. It's essentially just one more connection, and it's actually quite simple. There's even a way to do away with the additional wire and console controller entirely. The Magicboot (for PS4 or Xbox One, also available on Mayflash's website and through Amazon) is what it's called. One of these dongles can be plugged into a USB port on the front of the fightstick. The dongle serves as a stand-in for the original controller you'll need to connect. Removes all of the clutter associated with using a console controller and replaces it with a small USB dongle that protrudes a half inch from the stick's front. br>br>Additional Information: In many reviews, it was suggested that you get a GT-X. Because the joystick comes with a square gate, a Y octagonal restrictor plate is needed. I just opened my F500 Elite 10 minutes ago, and guess what I found? An octagonal gate included! Because I didn't realize this came with one, I bought the 8-way gate I thought I needed. If it is included in the future, Mayflash should update their product description to reflect this. br>br>So, stick is solid. To begin, tournament-grade parts are used, but it can be customized to your liking and is universal. The 8- The addition of a way restrictor plate was a nice touch.

I also compared the Mayflash's design to that of other gaming pads and joysticks to determine which had the best ergonomic design, dimensions, and weight. I quickly sold the mayflash F500 elite once I discovered it. I am extremely pleased with my purchase, despite the fact that the price was higher than I had anticipated. br>br>I prefer the F500 elite's larger design over the F300 elite's because it helps prevent joint problems, which I've recently experienced after returning to gaming. In comparison to the other mayflash models, there is more space around the stick portion on the left hand side, which helps to prevent joint problems. Because of the stick's solid heft, I can use it while gaming in my living room chair or at my desk without fear of it breaking or being jerked around. It weighs 11 pounds and is about the size of a small child. To put it another way, the device will not slide around on your lap or at your desk. The case is well-made and of good quality. br>br>The stick's size is important because it allows me to rest my hands when needed to avoid joint fatigue. br>br>The Sanwa buttons respond quickly, and the plug-and-play functionality is also excellent. I like the Elite because it came with the Sanwa buttons, which meant I didn't have to swap them out like I would have had to do with the standard F500 model. I don't play competitive fighting games and wouldn't use this to enter a tournament, so I can't comment on its effectiveness there. br>br>I also like that the stick can be used with other controllers (though an adapter must be purchased separately). On a PC or Raspberry Pi, the Xinput feature is also very useful for gaming. br>br>The ability to modify the artwork in the future is a plus. br>br>The only feature I'd like to see added to this joystick is wireless capability.

This fight stick is one of my favorites. I'm new to fighting sticks, but I'm a big gamer, so it was about time I got one. I have a number of different systems, and this works with all of them. There was no need to update it because it was compatible with the switch right out of the box. If you're an 80s baby like me, make sure you get an octagonal restrictor plate for the joystick; it just feels better when you're moving around. It takes only 3 minutes and a Phillips screwdriver to change the plates. I like how it looks right out of the box, but I'm sure I'll eventually add more colorful buttons and a new faceplate. There's no need to rush because these Sanwa buttons are genuine. They have a nice feel to them and work well together. Make sure you get the controller dongle for your system as well; it's a much neater setup than attaching an actual controller to this beast. I'd buy another one for my wife knowing she'd never use it just so I'd have a backup. That's how much I like it.

Everything I liked about the F500 was improved upon in the F500 Elite. This is absolutely stunning. There are fewer lights, the USB port has been relocated to the back, and the internals of the SANWA have been completely overhauled. Is there anything else you could want? It's simple to customize and open, and it looks fantastic in white.

I started by dismantling it in order to install some foam "silencers. " As you can see in the photos, the buttons are standard Sanwa buttons with snap-in side tabs. Three of the metal notches on three different buttons were not cut correctly, resulting in the button not snapping securely into place. br>br>It doesn't appear to affect the stick's performance, but I was expecting more from the "elite" version. Considering how mass production works and how this thing was almost certainly cut on a CNC machine, it's impossible to say how many of these have this flaw. br>br>On the plus side, it made removing those three buttons a lot easier. Aside from the jokes, it's not a big deal. It could be easily remedied with a file or something, but as I previously stated, I had hoped for more.
