Questions & Answers

Is this charger capable of dealing with different voltages in different countries? 110- 240 V? I'll be traveling to Australia, which has a 220 volt electrical system. ?

As this is a device aimed at the US market, I believe you'll need a converter for it.

Is this compatible with the Nintendo DS Lite?

Only the DS lite is affected.

Is it compatible with the Gameboy Micro?

No, it's only for the Nintendo DS Lite.

Is this charger compatible with the dsi lite?

I don't believe so; if my memory serves me correctly, the connectors ate differently. The DS lite and DSi were two separate consoles.

Not as depicted in the picture
3/5

Because it is pictured as a genuine DS charger, I paid a higher price for it. Instead, it came in a tiny, white box with a blurry Nintendo seal on it and a poorly printed label attempting to call it "frustration-free" packaging. I'm familiar with Amazon's frustration-free packaging, and this was not it (Amazon also informs you that it will be delivered in that manner). I'm also aware that Nintendo does not produce labels that appear to have been printed on a personal computer. Save your money and buy one of the aftermarket chargers instead, because that is what you will get. The other listings, at the very least, are upfront about it.

Charger for the Nintendo DS Lite
5/5

This is the original Nintendo DS Lite Charger. It did come in different packaging, with a note from Amazon explaining that they're working to reduce their environmental impact, so less packaging is being used. I don't give a damn about the packaging because I won't be keeping it anyway. The charger is genuine, and it fits and charges my DS Lite flawlessly. br>br>I misplaced my original charger, but it arrived quickly, and I was only out of my pokemon game for a few days =P.

It works
4/5

According to other reviewers, the charger did not arrive in the expected box. That strikes me as odd, because it implies either a) that it is a used or pre-owned item, or b) that it is a new item. a) someone took it out of the box and put it in, or b) someone took it out of the box and put it in. a new container The latter appears to be more likely, given that this item is allegedly new and appears to be so. What is the purpose of using switch boxes? br>br>It doesn't look quite like an OEM charger for the DS Lite, and it's a lot darker than I recall. I could be wrong, though, because I haven't seen one in over a decade. br>br>Anyway, the charger is fine; I used it to charge a 15-year-old battery that had been sitting in my DS Lite for a few years, as well as a new battery I purchased on eBay. The charger performed admirably, so I'm hoping it will last a long time!.

Because the knockoffs are all insufficient, the premium you pay is well worth it
5/5

I was reminded why I should always purchase licensed Nintendo chargers the moment I took this charger out of the box. If you don't understand why someone would want a 4 foot charging cable for a handheld gaming system, you can save money by buying a knockoff with a 12 -foot charging cable. 24 inch cord. br>br>I highly recommend this charger; the knock-off/imitation DSI chargers on the market are all junk.

Based on reviews, it appears to work fine; however, since this is a Christmas gift, I have yet to put it to the test
3/5

According to the reviews, it appears to be in good working order, so I'm not concerned. br>br>The image used in the listing is the subject of my critique. I don't mind third-party items as long as they work, but since this is a Christmas gift, I wanted to make sure I gave an officially licensed product because my niece has had a lot of problems with adapters, and I wanted to make sure she got the best quality. br>br>After carefully reviewing the available listings, I decided on this one because the photo made it appear to be licensed. To me, the lesson is this: I saw some reviews that said it wasn't exactly what was shown, but I hoped it was just a different kind of package. br>br>I got a loose adapter with a Nintendo logo on it, but it wasn't from Nintendo. A quick Internet search of the model number revealed that it is unofficially licensed and third-party made. br>br>I hope this doesn't come across as nitpicking; after all, the most important thing is that the product works (and if it doesn't, I'll be sure to update this review). Normally, I wouldn't give a damn whether it was good or bad. However, because I was specifically looking for a first-party adapter, and the image made it appear that way, I have to deduct a couple of stars because it did influence my purchase decision. br>br>If third-party adapters aren't a concern, go ahead. All of the other reviews are positive, so it appears that this will be a good fit for you. If you're looking for a Nintendo game, you're almost certainly not going to find it here. EDIT: br>br> I plugged it in and it charged fine; I'm not sure how long it will last, but so far it's been satisfactory.

Yes, it is wonderful! I was overjoyed to finally find a charger that actually charged my DS Lite after having problems with some off-brand chargers, so if you're looking for something to power an old system, get this one
5/5

Otherwise, you'll be throwing money down the rabbit hole; it's a little more expensive than the off-brand alternatives, but it's well worth it.

Corrosion and rusting are two things that happen to metals over time
3/5

Although the charger did not come in the original packaging as shown in the photo, it was an official charger. When the cord was opened, it was corroding and had white spots all over it. The charging tip was corroded and needed to be replaced.

This was not at all what was pictured, but it is a genuine product
3/5

I paid $13 for this expecting to receive a brand new official box, but it turned out to be used or refurbished. I should have read the reviews before ordering because, like many others, I got the small box instead of the Nintendo one shown in the picture. Disappointed, but at the very least, it's still a Nintendo and it works, at least for the time being.
