There haven't been any issues for me. It outlasts the OEM battery by a long shot. Because the R2 button was out of place, it took me about ten minutes. The vast majority of these reviewers appear to have no idea how to install a battery correctly. 5 stars
No, it appears to be a short in the controller or the new battery. I recently purchased two of these controllers, and they are both excellent performers. Perhaps disassemble it again and double-check the connections.
Remove no part of the wrapping, covering, or tape. It's a Kapton battery wrap and protection.

Update 2: My gold wireless headset's battery was swollen and bloated when I removed it (it had been installed for 3 months). Please check your battery, as this is not a safe situation. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> So it isn't holding a full charge after 3 months of use. After 4 hours of use, the battery in my wireless headset drops from full to one bar. I used to have to charge the battery after about 12 hours of use. br>br>I suppose you get what you pay for in this case. I'll be replacing my gold wireless headset battery with an official Dualshock 4 battery, which should last around 8 hours. br>br>- br>I bought two of these for the DualShock 4 and the PS4 goldwireless headset v2. br>With the stock battery, the DS4 only lasts three hours. Now it's 8 a. m. , after 4 hours. br>As for the headset, the stock one only has 550 mAh (4 hours of continuous use), but with this one's 2200 mAh (4x the capacity), I'm expecting it to last 16 hours before charging. I've been using it for 4 hours and the ui indicator is still showing 2 bars. Yes, I'm happy with my purchase; however, if anything goes wrong in the next month or two, I'll update this review. For the time being, I'm content.
These batteries will help you save a lot of cash. When the PS 4 controller batteries died, I assumed you simply replaced the controller, much like an old iPhone. One day, I decided to check Amazon to see if the batteries could be replaced, and lo and behold, they could! A new controller can cost anywhere from $50 to $100. Because the reviews were generally positive, I decided to take a chance and buy two new batteries for our two controllers for $60. I'm glad I did. To accommodate the slightly larger (and twice the fully charged power capacity) battery, some reviewers said they had to trim some of the battery holder plastic away inside the controller. I had to do this on one of the two controllers, but it was a simple job with a small pair of wire cutters. I've had the new batteries for about three weeks and have only had to charge them once! They came fully charged and ready to use. These batteries have a long life span, and I was able to replace the batteries in both controllers for less than half the price of a new one! This product has exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it.
After purchasing three new PS4 controllers, two of which were defective, I decided to give this battery a shot despite the negative reviews. This battery went in easily and provided me with 7 hours of playtime right out of the box. It was not going to charge anything. I reinstalled it and moved it to a different controller. no joy. Due to the restrictions for this type of battery, this is a pile of garbage that will be difficult to return. BUYING IS A MISTAKE. 05/2020.
I put it on my Dualshock 4 controller with the built-in light bar, and now I'm unstoppable (while playing God of War). I usually play these long storyline games for 4 hours straight, and my controller easily dies in that time. However, I can now play for at least 7 hours without needing to recharge. This is with the controller sound on full volume and the lightbar turned on.
My batteries fit perfectly and didn't require any trimming. Make sure you get the right battery for your controller when you go shopping. I'm looking forward to seeing how much longer I can play before having to charge. The OEM batteries have a capacity of 1000mAh, whereas these have a capacity of 2200mAh, which is more than double. After a few years of ownership, my controllers had a lot of issues with run time. On a full charge, one would last 4 hours, while the other would only last 30 minutes. These new cells are going to be a joy to work with! Rather than spending $60 on a new controller, spend $15 on a new battery.
I'm undecided about whether or not to give this a positive review. I guess I should have read more reviews first, because the fit is awful in comparison to the original battery. According to the iFixIt website, it was fairly simple to remove the backing, but two small springs fell out of my controller, and I'm not sure where they go. I reassembled it without them, and everything appears to be in working order. I'll see how long the battery lasts, but the fit is noticeably worse than the original flat sealed battery, as others have stated. At 2. With twice the capacity, I'm hoping for a better experience, but given how old my controller was, I think I'd have been better off just buying a new one. All I have to do now is hope that it recharges properly.
My controller's model number is CUH-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX I had read that this particular battery was a little larger than the ZCT2U, so I was prepared. It only took filing one side of the battery holder into the controller to make it fit, and a small amount of electrical tape to keep it in place. It adds a little weight to the controller, but it's saved me about $70 on a new controller so far. You develop a strong attachment to certain controllers.
The battery lasts much longer than the original PS4 battery, but I had to cut out some plastic from the controller to make it fit in my case.
