The cable I used for my original, off-the-shelf device did not work A Dreamcast console in white The led light did not work, and neither did it produce an image. Despite this, I was able to use this cable with my black Sega Sports Edition Dreamcast and it looks wonderful! Despite its support for VGA, my King of Fighters '99 seems to not display an image and may be one of the few Dreamcast games without a display. As far as I know, there are no other reviews prior to this one that mention this cable being console/serial number sensitive. Perhaps there is an issue As my experience with this cable may help someone else who is considering purchasing one, I wanted to share it.

With a VGA connection, the Dreamcast was able to output 480p. With the adapter/box, the Dreamcast will act as if it's a VGA device, so you're getting video output of the highest quality without the need to mod the internal components I was looking at the Pound Cable and thought I would give this one a try after seeing the positive reviews and higher rating. A few games are unfortunately not compatible with VGA mode and will not work with this cable at all but the overwhelming majority of Dreamcast games work perfectly fine. There is no regret. My goodness, my goodness, my goodness! Furthermore, this thing comes with an HDMI cable, so it doesn't require you to purchase another one in addition to.

When I play Jet Grind Radio, the effect is most noticeable. It's not uncommon for intro scenes to be nice and sharp for a few seconds, then things go blurry for the rest of the scene. In this instance, it is unimportant what is on screen, nor how fast the movement of things is. There's no rhyme or reason to it. Can you tell me if the adapter I have is bad? There can't be a problem with the adapter if it appears randomly, but I am open to suggestions.

My initial reaction to this product was a bit puzzling. I do not understand the rave reviews. It works, but honestly, I am not able to see much difference between this cable and the Chinese cable that came It's almost like the text on the page is read better, but the graphics don't seem to be improved much. The price is quite high considering the quality. It's hard to tell if this cable is going to be any better than alternatives that cost 10$ less. Unless you are only looking for a "cheap" way to connect your Dreamcast to an HDMI TV, then you don't need this accessory. To improve the picture quality on your PS3, I suggest you either buy a DC HDMI converter or modify your console with a DC HDMI.

In truth, I expected all the same problems as with I have, however, been pleased with the results. Yes, it doesn't perform as well as the DCHDMI mod, but it's still quite useful for the price. I think it does just the bare minimum of VGA to HDMI conversion without messing up the signal in the process, and that's all I expected. So, the quality of your TV's scaler will make a lot of difference in how well it displays pictures. The picture quality on one of my TVs is pretty soft, whereas the picture on another is far sharper. Both TVs treat the 720x480 signal as though it were In most cases, I'm able to get a relatively sharp picture without the scaling problems by upscaling with my Framemeister. As far as build quality goes, it seems to be of a decent quality. is no easy way to open it so I didn't test it. However, the box itself appears to be made of metal, the cable is heavy and durable, and the Dreamcast connector also feels solid. My overall impression is that it is a very good product. In spite of the lack of a Framemeister, I am still happy with the picture quality on my main TV even without it. Now I feel that I have a very usable HDMI solution for a relatively reasonable price.
