Questions & Answers

Is it possible that this could be eaten?

If you put your mind to it, anything can be eaten. However, unless it's a weak and feeble pokemon (magikarp are nearly inedible), I advise you to avoid it.

Is it necessary for you to capture all of your Pokémon?

Nope. Pokémon are catching you in Mother Russia!

Is this compatible with the Nintendo 2DS XL?

Yes. According to my research, all 3DS games will run on the 2DS Xl, with the exception of 3D.

So, is this a new story that continues from Moon, or is it the same game with more content? an increase in size?

After the third island, the story revolves around necrozma, and the locations you can visit as you progress through the game are identical, as are the poke rides you receive and the order in which you receive them. The development of some characters in Ultra Sun and Moon is superior to that of their predecessors. Although the postgame is poor, it is preferable to having no postgame at all. There are more than 400 pokemon in the regional dex, new characters, and a little more to do after you beat the game than there was in Sun and Moon. In comparison to other retellings of other Pokemon games, I'd say this is a good one. (yellow, emerald, platinum, black, and white 2)These games are, in my opinion, the worst, but they are acceptable additions to the franchise overall. To be honest, I was hoping that these would be my favorite games in the series, but that isn't the case. I've been playing Pokemon for 14 years and can tell you that if you already own Sun or Moon, these games aren't worth your time.

It isn't entirely new, but neither is it "exactly the same" by any stretch of the imagination
5/5

All the one-star reviews complaining that it's the same game perplex me. The Ultra Sun/Moon games have always been marketed as such, as they are essentially remakes/remasters of the originals with all new content and significant storyline changes. It isn't meant to be a completely different game than switching from Red/Blue to Gold/Silver, for example. It's more accurate to think of these as alternate versions of the original games, as that is exactly what they are. Expectations should be re-evaluated in light of this. br>br>While many locations and plot elements remain the same early on, the overall experience is vastly different. There are numerous ways to go about it. There are new areas to find and explore, there are TONS of new secrets and quests ranging from simple and obvious to more obscure and rewarding, and there are a LOT more classic Pokemon thrones. You are chased by an entirely new villain organization with a brand new plot line attached throughout, virtually all characters from major NPCs to simple villagers have new dialogue and quests, and virtually all characters from major NPCs to simple villagers have new dialogue and quests. the list goes on and on With all new events and locations, the second half of the game plays out very differently, and the post-game is a lot more meaty. The soundtrack as well as the user interface have been overhauled and changed. br>br>While I understand not liking a game, calling it "exactly the same" and thus a rip-off is a stretch. off feels like a knee-jerk reaction a knee-jerk reaction that, to be honest, isn't entirely honest and doesn't provide any useful information to someone looking to buy this Make sure you know what you're getting and adjust your expectations accordingly. It doesn't feel like a rehash of the original games, and I'm actually surprised at how many changes there are, some major and some minor. The story now has a much better flow to it. Many cutscenes have been changed and rewritten in ways that make them feel stronger, and many major characters have received a lot more characterisation, making it feel more rewarding to those who played the original and felt some of the beats fell flat. br>br>This isn't the game you're looking for if you're looking for a completely new experience like going from one generation to the next. However, as someone who has played the games on and off since the first Red/Blue release but isn't a diehard, I am pleased with my purchase and what they did with it.

Pokemon is on the decline
3/5

I'd like to state that I've been a Pokemon fan for quite some time. I grew up playing Pokemon Red and Blue, as well as every other generation except 4 and 6. Following Gen 5, I've noticed a drop in the series. Despite the fact that the cut scenes were long, there were no special events, the rivals were super friendly, the games were easier, and so on, I still enjoyed Sun and Moon, and they are probably second only to Pokemon Black and White 2 in terms of my favorite games. Poke Ride, which kills HMs, was introduced in Sun and Moon, and it's something we've been waiting for for a long time. Gyms were replaced with island trials, and while the execution could have been better, it was a welcome change. Neither the Ultra Sun nor the Ultra Moon brought anything new to the table. You begin in the same town and in fact the game feels nearly the same for 30% of the game. There are a few minor tweaks, such as the Gym leaders and story, as well as the ultra recon squad, but it all felt like DLC. The ultra recon squad did not believe they played a significant role in the story or had any influence on it. Overall, the game left a sour taste in my mouth, and I had to force myself to finish it, never picking it up again after that. If you've ever played Sun and Moon, I'd recommend skipping this one.

It has some good changes, graphic updates, and fun additions, but it's hit or miss when it comes to the story
4/5

So, first and foremost, if you already own Pokemon Sun/Moon, Ultra Sun/Moon does not offer much more. There are a few changes that can help a lot, such as seeing Pokemon out in the wild, living peaceful lives while you go on your adventure. The changes in the story make things feel a little fresher, and the post-game story feels a little simple, but it's a lot of fun going through the Rainbow Rockets, who are actually pretty tough, and it's a lot of fun reading their dialogues. Giovanni is a true badass, but sadly that story is left unfinished. There are other additions like buildings that were "under construction" in Sun/Moon are now Picture Clubs or Surf Shacks in Ultra Sun Moon. Mantine surfing is also entertaining, though unlocking new moves for higher scores is difficult. Overall, I don't enjoy the game, but I also don't despise it. I would, however, recommend it to anyone who hasn't played the original Sun/Moon games or who is a huge fan of the series.
