More of an obituary of fond memories than a review During the year 1998, something wonderful happened
4/5

In the early 2000's, the SideWinder 3D Pro from Microsoft was THE equipment serious gamers considered essential. You must experience games in their original form if you want to fully enjoy them. Although the keyboard could be used to fly MS CFS on your Windows XP machine, it was difficult to fly like a washing machine. Buying a new Corvette with a wimpy automatic transmission is not a good idea either. You want that controller in your hand. Microsoft's great sin is that their products are structured in a way that makes it impossible for me to jump in the cockpit in 2014 and start shooting Messerschmidts using THIS stick. I don't know how to get this peripheral to work on my Win 7 32 bit machine, even though I can get my old MS software to work. You didn't mention that I don't have a 10-pin plug on my machine, which was made in 2010. Microsoft recently stopped updating drivers, so it has become nearly impossible to even TRY to purchase the small gadget that might be able to make the Sidewinder USB work. There is no way you can buy this and have it work on a modern machine

I've noticed a few other individuals with similar observations. It is worth mentioning that if I wanted to resume using the Sidewinder, I could buy an old WIN XP hoopty machine, repair the memory, sound cards, and so forth, so that it could be used exclusively for vintage PC gaming once more. This might just be what I need to do. This stick used to be excellent once upon a time.

The slider is bad
3/5

In this case, you need to exert extreme force to move the slider. Its difficulty making use of it stems from this. There was no reason for the supplier to sell it in this condition, and he should have known this.

This is an old joystick that is great
5/5

One of these bad boys has been lying around since probably the middle of the out of date by today's standards (I don't really play the latest games) but for the classics, it's perfect. This controller is a blast in X-Men First Class and its sequels! The Star Wars X-Wing and TIE Fighter has worked wonderfully for almost 30 years and has survived many house moves and neglect without developing any serious problems. I think it is a solid piece of hardware from a time when things were built to last. Of course it doesn't have a USB plug, but you might be able to use an adapter to plug it into a computer. The reason I'm not sure is that I didn't check I just retrieved an outdated sound card with the correct port when I felt like using it.

I feel so nostalgic when I look at A flight stick like this was THE thing in the 90's
4/5

It is impossible for me to count the hours I spend on X There are vehicles for the X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Descent 2, and MechWarrior 2 to use. The rudder follows the movement of the boat, making centereding very easy, and the hat switch was responsive. I really like this. As well as that, it also has that 15-day guarantee. The connector has pins. In that case, you'll need a USB adapter if you're planning to use it today.

The day has been great so far
4/5

Since I played with this joystick for years and years, I can attest it to its quality. Although it is a little dated by today's standards, it would be cherished by any nostalgic gamer.
