The first time I bought them for my grandson, he was 7 years old, and had trouble mastering them in about 20 minutes. My grandfather gave us grandkids some traditional wooden stilts when we were young, and we used to race around the yard on them. I miss the nostalgic appeal of the wooden stilts, but they were not adjustable, and once we tried them for a while, we wound up with splinters. On the other hand, these are fully adjustable and even designed to be more ergonomic than others. When I thought I would be able to walk on stilts again, I compared it to remembering how to ride a bike it took some getting used to. complaint is that it is a little tricky to adjust everything to just the right size for everyone.
