I had to remove some wood from the 4x6 beam's ends, just like everyone else. My coworker used a belt sander, while I used an angle grinder with a flap disk. Although not ideal, my services are free, and we saved money on brackets. They're fantastic in every other way.
The crossbar is 4x6 with 4x4 legs.
A 10' (4x6) beam can also be used, particularly for two swings or a bench swing.
It's around 7. 5' to the top of the 4x6 beam (I added mulch to the swings' floor, but 7. '5' is a close approximation.

However, there is one major flaw in the product. the exchange of information To make the 4x6 size, you should bolt together 2x6 boards; if you use a solid 4x6 beam, you will have to trim it down to fit. A solid beam is slightly narrower than two 2x6s bolted together.
Before hauling the wood home, we took the bracket to Lowe's to double-check that the beams would fit. None of the 4x6 posts could accommodate it. Other reviews stated that they wished they had used two 2x6s, so we went with that option. Those, on the other hand, were insufficiently large. Each bolt needed to have a shim added to it. Then, when it came time to install the swing hooks, we discovered that the bolts needed to go through the seam. We drilled about 100 (overkill) deck screws into the back and then proceeded to drill massive bolts into the seam. We're only hanging a baby swing, so it should be fine, but using two 2x6 boards for the top isn't recommended. I wish I'd given it more consideration. Overall, they are sturdy; however, I wish they would fit the board; perhaps if I purchased the board and let it dry for a month, it would fit, but who has time for that?.
It took me less than an hour to construct! The cross beam was a 4x6x16 with 3 feet sticking out on each side, and the brackets slid right on to it because the 4x6 was dry. The 4x4s were hammer tapped into place. In the yard, it looks fantastic.
Welds and design are both extremely strong. Make sure the wood isn't wet from treatment when you buy your beams and 4x4s. To be sure, bring one into the store. Although the Beams may appear to be dry, the true test will be whether or not they slide into the Brackets.
I didn't expect it to be as substantial as it was. One of the screws snapped while driving it into the top rail, but the rest of the assembly went smoothly. The screws don't appear to be exterior grade (the shiny finish was flaking off, revealing dirty, rusted metal). I'd probably buy them again for the price I paid, but instead of using the fasteners that came with it, I'd get my own higher-quality fasteners. Use a 4x4 attached to a 2x4 for the top rail, as suggested by others. Without additional work, a 4x6 is unlikely to fit properly.
Bracket was perfect; however, as others have mentioned, the 4x6 wood needed to be shaved. It's (extremely) inconvenient, but it's not impossible to deal with. In hot and humid weather, the lag bolts are insufficient. New washers, as well as stainless and galvanized hardware (stainless for swings to attach to swivels and galvanized for this bracket). The quality of the brackets is excellent. The 4x4 "legs" fit perfectly with the help of a hammer drill and a socket attachment.
Excellent design and construction. These cut the time it takes to assemble the swing set frame in half. Within 30 minutes of receiving the wood, I had my frame up and ready to use, and within a couple of hours, I had the entire swing set up and ready to use.
It could have been the wood I used, but the 4x6 was a pain to slide into place. In terms of long-term use, It hasn't been more than a few months, I can assure you. I'd say the paint color has already faded, and it isn't even summer yet. Overall, I'd recommend it because of the low price.
