They are a hit with my 12-month-old grandson! Climbing blocks for mobile infants that are soft and safe
5/5

It is possible to wipe down vinyl-covered surfaces. Soft and light in weight, but strong enough for an older child to sit on.

Softsccape play zones are one of our favorite things to do
5/5

I've purchased a number of these FDP softscape sets over the years, and my children adore them. These are the items that belong in your house. Use playzones made of a softer fabric that is still dense but not as durable as a commercial set, which is typically made of fabric that can practically resist razorblades, similar to what you see in fast food play areas. br> That fabric is extremely durable, but it is also extremely expensive, making it prohibitively expensive for everyday use in the home. We've had no problems with the fabric on the house because I don't let my kids juggle razorblades. Softscapes in this version aren't as durable as those in previous versions. I do have cats, and every now and then I'll find a pinprick where a claw has pierced the skin, but considering the abuse they receive and the amount of use they get from both children and cats, they hold up remarkably well. br>br>Every birthday and holiday party we throw, my softscape sets are a huge hit. I ALWAYS have 5 kids rearranging the pieces and putting the castle/fort/whatever back together. I've found that having a few of these sets is great for developing independence, teamwork, and problem-solving - Almost invariably, the children form teams and engage in some form of combat. I watch kids figure out how to build stable, defensive structures to thwart the opposing team's efforts and how to use the shapes they have to get the best results in their games. These are invaluable lessons for children to learn, and I love that toys like this make those concepts teachable in a developmental way that feels more fun, and that this type of play encourages self-confidence. When compared to dictated learning, driven learning is more likely to be retained. And, despite the fact that games with these types of toys can be active and intense, I notice less tattling when my kids choose to build or play with the softscapes and are forced to work together. br>br>These cylinders make a great softscape starter set, add-on set for existing softscape play zones, or birthday/holiday gift for those who haven't joined the softscape club yet! Your kids will use the cylinders as bridge plugs, pilons for larger structures to be lifted off the ground, pillows for lounging on their softscape while watching a movie, and tables when they eat as part of the add-on set. A child's imagination has virtually limitless possibilities. br>br>In terms of durability, I've had no problems. My ONLY even slightly negative feedback is to CHECK YOUR BOX AND PIECES THOROUGHLY WHEN THEY ARRIVE. I didn't open this until after it arrived (I saved it for a birthday gift), and it was only then that I discovered my box had been brutalized with a pretty severe gash across the bottom during shipping, and one of my cylinder pieces had a hole in it when I opened the box. To fix it, I bought a vinyl repair kit and did my best with it, then wrapped it in plain packing tape with non-serrated edges. If it starts to lift, I simply peel off the tape, clean the area with Everclear (to avoid a repair scar), and retape. It's not a big deal, and my kids don't seem to mind, but if I'd noticed sooner, I would have contacted Amazon to request a replacement. Overall, there is no better, more durable, more adaptable, more evolutionary, more creative, more educational, or longer lasting toy for the price. Dollhouses, ride-on cars, kid's kitchens, and inflatable water toys are all worth $200 each. It doesn't matter what you're looking for - we've got it. Nonetheless, whenever my children's friends or cousins visit, these softscapes are the most popular item. I can't say enough about how much I recommend this to all the parents I know. Set up a playscape area if you have the space, and watch your children grow and learn in unexpected ways. Plus, there's a freebie - Anything that keeps the kids occupied for that long allows Mom to sit and drink an entire cup of coffee. Some days, just having a cup of coffee in peace and quiet is enough to justify the purchase price of these softscapes!.

Completed play area at home! They are adored by children of all ages
5/5

We already have some foam, such as gym mats, and a folding balance beam, so these blocks are exactly what we needed to finish/create an at-home gym. socially, at home toddler play area that is set back from the road. br>We have a slew of kids, and they used to adore play areas at places like McDonald's and the pay-for kid play zones at tumble beans coffee shops. Since Covid, they've been missing that type of play and have inquired about it whenever we pass certain locations. We occasionally take them to the park, but I'm still wary of indoor play areas with foam ramps and blocks similar to these. br>They are fantastic for children of all ages, but particularly for those under the age of one. The crew is made up of young people aged 6 and up. The best part is that they're having fun together, building, stretching and moving (slowly), and enjoying some screen-free time with open-ended play. br>We had a few incidents with wooden blocks (1-year-old throwing them and hitting kids in the head with them). When thrown, these don't pose the same danger as a wooden building block, and the fact that they're so big makes them even cooler. br>I think I'd keep these "toys" even after my kids have grown up and repurpose them as stretching and yoga tools for myself. br>Overall, I'd give these a thumbs up.

The soft play gym has a new addition
5/5

With COVID holding us all hostage recently and winter on the way, I decided to set up a soft play gym for my 21-month-old son inside. This building block set was a great addition, and it has given my son and the rest of the family a lot of enjoyment. These blocks are soft, as described, but they maintain their shape and are extremely durable. They easily stack on top of one another, and my son enjoys knocking them all down again and again. These are used in conjunction with the other soft play structures I bought for him to crawl under and over. He builds tunnels by stacking these around them. While these don't keep my rambunctious toddler entertained for hours at a time, he does play with them frequently, and I believe you'd get your money's worth in the end! Cleaning and disinfecting these with soap and water or an alcohol wipe is simple. br>br>If you have a you have a 1-year warranty. I believe these would be greatly appreciated by a three-year-old!.

Tumbling at home has never been easier
5/5

Pre-school is one of my three-year-old's favorite things to do. Covid was in tumbling class at the time. We simply cannot accommodate him now that all of the gyms are closed. It was fine at first, but he has recently expressed a strong desire to return, so we decided to set up a home tumbling facility. br>br>These blocks are a great addition to our tumbling area at home. They are the ideal size; they are neither too big nor too small. They're soft enough that if they fall over or are thrown, they won't hurt. However, they must be firm enough for him to build and climb on. He has a lot of fun stacking and running through them. br>br>They're also simple to wipe down and clean, which is crucial when you've got a messy toddler playing with them all day. They're extremely long-lasting, and the colors don't fade over time.

These are a hit with the kids
4/5

To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about the FDP Softscape playtime large building block set. They appear to be well-made, and the material they're made of is also something I appreciate. It's very simple to clean and disinfect, which is crucial these days. They're also a hit with my son. He climbs all over them, and his older sister makes things out of them, which he enjoys destroying. There's a lot of fun to be had with these. They've been used as seats, to build things and knock them over, to climb on; in short, the kids adore them, and I think they're pretty cool, too. br>br> My only criticism is the price; while these are very cool and the kids love them, I believe they should be a little less expensive; however, they are still very cool and should last a long time!.
