Questions & Answers

Are plastic containers included in the shipment, or are only baggies included?

We made the switch from bags to jars a few months ago. There has been a rare instance of someone receiving bags as a result of an old product in Amazon warehouses, but the product should be delivered in jars.

Is it possible to make sea glass using this method?

Yes, it is excellent for making sea glass, if you asked the right person. I tumble with coarse for 12 hours, then clean off the residue by tumbling for 4 hours in soapy water.

What is the best way to get rid of grit?

The grit is re-usable, so you can use it again and again.

Do you think this polisher set will work on plastic? I'm curious if it can also be used to polish dice. ?

It might polish if it's made of a very hard plastic. Most plastics, on the other hand, will absorb the grit.

Newbie: I'm still learning new things
5/5

So, I'm new to rock tumbling, and I just got my first hobby kit ever for my birthday in June (National Geographic Rock tumbler for those interested). The kit only came with so much grit, and since I've collected a lot of rocks in the last however many years, I quickly ran out, so I went to Polly Plastics to find some reasonably priced and functional grit. When I ordered on Friday, it was estimated that I would receive my product by Wednesday the following week, but it arrived on Sunday. It was expertly packaged, and I could tell that a lot of thought had gone into making sure I got my grit. The two one-pound bags of grit were not only in heavy-duty zipper-sealed bags, but they were also inside another zipper-sealed bag before being wrapped in plastic. If these bags had leaked in any way, they would have stayed put! Fortunately, they did not leak, and I was able to fill the jar with all of my grit. My rocks have now arrived and are being tumbled, so I'll update in a few days to let you know how good the grind is. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> Today, I removed my rocks from the tumbler. My tumbler is a small 3-pound tumbler, for those who are interested. According to everything I've read, two tablespoons of grit is required. When I pulled my rocks out today, there was so much extra grit that it had formed a nearly cement layer at the bottom of my tumbler, requiring several washes to clear out the grit and get all of my rocks out. The majority of them went without a hitch, allowing us to progress to the next stage. The grit has a metallic sheen to it. br>br>I'll post another update in a few days; for this round, I only used one tablespoon. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I just pulled out a batch with only one tablespoon of grit in it, and it seems to have worked perfectly for my 3 pound. One tablespoon of this grit will suffice in a hobby tumbler. I've attached a photo of my rocks, which are ready for phase 2.

As advertised, there were no plastic jars
3/5

For the course grit, I chose this brand because it indicated that it came in two plastic containers. BUT, like so many other less expensive brands, it came in two ziplock bags, which I chose to ignore. br>I'm sure the grit will be the same as everyone else's, but I'm disappointed. br>br>Fortunately, the pellets I ordered also came with plastic jars, which I will reuse as needed.

The best grit you can get for your first grit! I loved how my stones came out smoother than any other grit after 1 1/2 weeks in a tumbler! I've been tumbling for over a year and have tried a variety of grits with four tumblers
5/5

This one completely blew me away! I was so excited when some of my stones were ready for the walnut/polishing after the first grit and less than 2 weeks tumbled. I'VE NEVER HAD THEM BEFORE THAT SMOOTH AFTER THE FIRST TIME! From now on, I will only buy from and recommend this company. I'd post pictures, but they've already been returned to the tumblers. I'm excited to share photos from my upcoming batch!.

Containers that are incredibly simple to use! This is, without a doubt, the most user-friendly product on the market
5/5

Other products that come in large, single bags are undoubtedly less expensive, but they frequently make a mess when opened. I was stuck in a bind when I realized I was out of coarse grit, despite the fact that I had three large sets of rock on hand. The grit arrived the very next day and was of excellent quality. As it turned out, the individual sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-sub- For my large tumblers, packaged, 8-ounce containers were exactly what I needed. After I finish writing this, I'm going to buy them again. This item is very easy to use.

The product is exactly what the manufacturer claims it to be
5/5

Quality and consistency in packaging. I have three tumblers: three pounds, fifteen pounds, and three hundred pounds. It's the only thing I've tried so far. It, on the other hand, performs admirably and produces excellent results.

Shiny Rocks and Pebbles are the best
5/5

After a day of tumbling some jasper, all of the edges were smooth and the feel was soft, and the price was reasonable. All that's left for me to do now is wait.

wow
5/5

For many years, I've been a haphazard rock and glass tumbler. This is the first time I've gone beyond the Thumlers' standard grit. Because this polishing media is so effective, I only need to tumble it for 48 hours to finish it. The amount of slurry that has been left behind is astounding.
