There are only 4 shakers available for this price, but the finish is really lovely!
They are made of a type of plastic that I am not 100% certain of. Since we have had them for a year and a quarter, there hasn't been much of a change in the ink. The sink works fine for me to clean them with a little dish soap and warm water.
We broke one of the orange ones, and there were hundreds of little beads (which looked like lead, but were probably just metal) all over the floor!
One of my son's beads broke and went flying all over the place. When I was worried, I searched the web but found no answers. In order to get my own conclusion, I performed my own lab test. Lead does not rust in the traditional sense. I soaked 20 of the beads in water for one hour and Those are most likely made of either steel or cast iron. If swallowed, this shouldn't pose any problems to the stomach.

This product should not be purchased by children. This product was given to us as a gift. I hate them, they break easily and leave little beads all over the place. This type of mess is extremely difficult to clean and dangerous to Would be wonderful for someone to make these awesome shakers sturdy enough not to break when dropped on a padded floor from 6in. It has been years since our family has had these eggs. It makes a pleasant sound and is a good size. As well as serving as eggs, they can also be used as play food. The sad news is that, now 4 years later, almost all of them have separated, sending tiny little metal balls (about the size of a grain of rice) rolling every which way. So my recommendation for this product is not appropriate.
