Three months ago, April 23rd, I bought this part. I just received it today, June 27th. It is made out of plastic that looks like it was fitted perfectly on my Tr-4 unit. I used the longer esc screws that came with the kit to replace the old screws. In any case, both the esc and fan mount is adequately secured by the screws on the bottom of the chassis. You did a good job. I run my Traxxas light's fan with a Traxxas light The plug fits and it runs fine. The fan is small and silent, and unlike the picture, there is no heat sensor when the fan starts up. If you have the esc on, it's on all the time. It will be interesting to see what happens when I try it out. In my opinion, it appears to be in good shape so far, but it will get dirty quickly and you'll need to blow it out when it's hot and humid.

Traxxas Slash 4x4 was not listed as a direct fit on the description at the time of purchase. Aluminum is not used in the manufacture of this item. The material is hard plastic/nylon. Additionally, it does not have any type of heat sensor. As a result of the late shipment, I am no longer eligible It is my intention to reach out to the seller, and I hope that some resolution will ensue. Whenever I have time I will post an update.
