It's a single piece of foam that was most likely white at one point but has been painted grey and black. This is my least favorite part of the costume and the one with the lowest quality, but I understand why it's made of foam because it's a toy for kids. It's something that my four-year-old enjoys playing with. The black handle's paint has faded a little and the foam underneath can be seen, but it still works. The rest of the costume is of excellent quality and has been worn by people of various ages.
My five-year-old daughter is tall (she wears a size six) and the clothing fits her well, with plenty of room for movement and growth. Her four-year-old sister also wears the vest; at less than 30 pounds and a size 3T in clothing, it's a little big on her, but we just tighten the Velcro and it hangs down, which doesn't bother her.
Yes. The pirate top with a sword loop, the foam sword, hat, and patch.
I've never bothered to clean it before - I believe you'd need to use a damp cloth or sponge for this.

It's a well-made costume that's far superior to anything you'd find in a costume or drug store. That being said, when it arrived, the plastic packaging was stuck to the back of the skull decal, and when I tried to separate them, it came off. It was a hot day, so I'm sure that contributed to the issue. I told Melissa and Doug that they needed a piece of tissue paper or cardboard between the costume and the packaging, so I called them directly. The customer service representative promptly dispatched a replacement costume and requested that I send them a photo of the damage. That's what I call excellent customer service, and I'll be looking for this brand again in the future.
I enjoy Halloween costumes that can also be worn as everyday attire. up and stay away from costumes that won't last more than a single night of trick-or-treating. This collection didn't let me down! After a ton of use, it's still in great shape. My 7-year-old and 4-year-old can both wear it, and they both enjoy it. It's simple for them to put on on their own, and the velcro is simple to close when they're not wearing it, so no material frays. The vest is made of a nice thick material, and the hat has kept its shape despite being stepped on, stuffed into bins and bags, and worn numerous times. And, miraculously, we haven't lost the eyepatch, which is still in excellent condition, and the sword, which is made of thick foam, is still in one piece. I'd buy it again or give it as a gift to someone else.
it's up to date and will last a long time! This costume, as well as a map, were purchased to supplement my 3-year-old son's pirate play. He is enamored with both of them and will play with them for hours. Because the jacket velcros down the front, he can easily put it on and take it off by himself. The jacket has pockets for his map and a loop for his sword, and the hat fits perfectly and is of excellent quality and comfort. The jacket is also of excellent quality and fits perfectly! My son is three years old, as I previously stated. He wears a size 4 or 5T jacket right now, and it fits him perfectly. It is made in such a way that it will fit a wide range of sizes, so I anticipate it fitting for at least a few years. The sword is made of a thick foam-like substance. It won't hurt anyone seriously, but it might sting if swung too hard. The only thing I don't like about it is the eye patch. The velcro on the band's tips does not allow for a lot of adjustment, so it keeps sliding off my son's head. He is no longer wearing it. Overall, this is an excellent purchase that I would enthusiastically recommend!.
It was absolutely adorable and a perfect fit for my seven-year-old daughter. year- It's the perfect size for an older child, but it'd also work for a smaller one. Because he wanted the red one, we added the hook hand and used a different eye patch, both of which we found on Amazon. It came with an eye patch, which he described as "weird. " It had a Velcro band to keep it on, which is great, but it didn't stay or sit comfortably on the back of his head. If I had to make a complaint, it would be that the sword holder is Velcro, making it difficult to insert and remove the sword. It arrived in an absurdly large box! Wish Amazon would combine more items in one box; there was no reason for my entire order to be delivered in three boxes and two bags when it could have all been delivered in this box. It was well worth the 23 dollars!.
The costume is of exceptional quality. The sword isn't as strong as the others, but that's not a big deal. I admire his creativity and games that he incorporates into his outfits. It's extremely well-made. After a year: br>br> This costume has been worn, washed, and re-worn several times. This will be worn outside by my son while he rides his bike and runs around. The longevity astounds me. It is regularly washed. It should be hung to dry. I definitely got my money's worth, and I anticipate being able to pass it on once he's finished with it - I can't say the same for the rest of his wardrobe. Because of the imaginative play, I had to raise the educational score. br>br>Before it was worn out, my son outgrew it. He put in a lot of effort into it. I buy Melissa on a regular basis because it is such a good product. Most 3-year-olds will enjoy Doug's costume role-playing sets. year- birthdays that are no longer celebrated They are extremely popular with the children. Parents feel the same way.
Pros: br>Well-made, high-quality materialsbr>Fits a 6-year-old boy comfortably with room to grow (4 feet tall, 45 pounds)br>Usable pockets in vestbr>br>Cons: br>Nonebr>br>Summary: br>Nonebr>br> Overall, this is a well-made costume with high-quality materials and stitching. My son, his friends, and his younger sister all wear the shirt/vest frequently, and it has held up well for the past nine months, with no tearing or fraying. Despite my son beating up on pretty much everything in the house, including myself, the foam sword has held up surprisingly well. This was money well spent.
My daughter adores it because it is well-made and sturdy. Melissa has always exceeded my expectations, so I didn't expect anything less. I bought it for her 4th birthday because (1) she likes Jake and the Neverland Pirates and (2) she doesn't play with dolls or figurines. sets. So, how does a mother deal with such a situation? Buy a dress, if you don't already have one. Of course, you'll need an up-to-date outfit. =) Needless to say, she wore it all day pretending to be a pirate, which made me very happy, and she still wears it at least three times a day. Every week, four times. br>br>The sizing is ideal because it fits her perfectly right now while also allowing her to grow. Whether it's for Halloween or just on a regular basis, this is a great idea. day- dress- The cost is unbeatable. I also bought the Melissa. Doug's pirate chest (which includes a pirate chest, pirate flag, red pouch with "gold" doubloons, and another eye patch) to go with the outfit. That is also a product I would strongly recommend. All of my daughter's pirate fantasies were realized thanks to these two purchases. Yay!.
