These dice were on sale for Prime Day, so I bought them. (rio) Gold Multicolor Each die was individually packaged in a tiny ziploc bag when they arrived. br>These dice are absolutely stunning! They look like they should be worn as jewelry to me. They're the same size as regular plastic dice, and the colors have a Mardi Gras feel to them. The gold edging and numbers are smooth, and the colored interior is lightly textured. They have a metal feel to them and are heavier than standard plastic dice, but they roll smoothly and appear to be well balanced. The pointy ends aren't rounded like most plastic dice, but they won't cut you unless you step on them. It's a little difficult to read the gold numbers against the yellow textured background; All of the other colors are acceptable. br>These dice were a big hit with my gaming group, especially the ladies. Mine came with a soft black pleather "dragonskin" pouch that works well to hold the dice; however, unlike some of the other dice sets from the same company, there is no eye on this dice bag. I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to a friend or family member.
Metal dice have always piqued my interest, but they've always been out of my price range. I ordered the 11-piece Antique Iron set, and the quality is excellent for the price ($20 at the time of purchase). br>br>It appears that many of the different color sets are of varying sizes. I couldn't find anything specific, so I decided to share. This particular set (11 pieces antique iron) is noticeably smaller than standard gaming dice, and the sizes are also unusual. They look as if they're from separate sets. Like most sets, the normal size ratio between dice is different. The 4- 8-inch and sider The sider appears to be on a smaller scale than the others. br>br>Overall, I'm satisfied for the money; I just want to warn any potential buyers.
In addition, this is a good self-defense item. Opinion: The Rainbow D was my first purchase. D dice in "Holographic Purple," and I'm very pleased with how they turned out. Personally, I adore the magical purple/metal dice set; it's as if a wizard dropped his personal set on my table. I don't think you'll be disappointed with these if you want to show up with one of the best sets at the table. Overall, I'd gladly buy another set if I needed to, and I'd be thrilled to receive one as a gift. br>br>Instructions: br>br>Instructions: br>br> They have a substantial weight to them. You won't be rolling these bad boys across the table quietly, but when you do, it'll sound and feel like a critical hit. The rest of the rolls will sound like a bull in an elven glass shop. br>br>One minor flaw that I would point out is that the D4 points are only lightly rounded. With this, you could caltrop even the most powerful beasts (or yourself). Although the points aren't as sharp as a knife's edge, they could easily puncture skin. br>br>Because of the weight and metal edge points, I wouldn't throw them across a delicate table top (high gloss finish), but you shouldn't throw anything across a delicate table top anyways. br>br>The set I received has incredible color and detail. Purple is a brilliant color. When paired with the rainbow metal, it looks fantastic. For this type of thing, I usually go for purple on gold, but I really like this set. br>br>Another thing to keep in mind is that It was packaged in a black drawstring bag that was of reasonable size and appeared to be of good quality. We'll pretend it's a dragon skin bag, but it's actually made of fake alligator skin. At least, that's how the set I got is. Advantages: br>br> Cons: Brilliant color, solid construction, good weight and feelbr>br>Pros: Brilliant color, solid construction, good weight and feelbr>br>Cons: Because of its material and weight, the D4 is a self-defense weapon with sharp points and loud rolls.
I bought this for my wife (I got the same thing in purple with gold trim) and we both adore it! They're of excellent quality, with easily readable numbers and vibrant colors. They have a nice weight to them, which some may find to be a disadvantage, but I enjoy the weight behind them. The set also includes a high-quality bag that looks fantastic. I was genuinely surprised at how inexpensive the bag and die set were for the quality. However, there are a few flaws, a few nitpicks, that keep me from giving it a perfect five stars.
PROS:
- a set of numbers that are easy to readbr>- paint of superior quality -br>Materialbr>-br>-br> They came with a dice bag that is visually stunning and of excellent quality. br>- CONS: The dice themselves have a good amount of weight behind them. br>br>CONS:
- With the exception of the d20, all of the corners are extremely sharp and can be filed down. DO NOT EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER They're not recommended for dice towers because they'll dent and ding them. br>- Unless the sharp corners are filed down, it is not recommended for glass, leather, or felt dice trays. br>- This set has become my (and my wife's) primary use set for all DND sessions. br>br>Apart from that, I wouldn't recommend using it on direct glass tables. br>br> This set is well worth the money (which is very reasonably priced) in my opinion, as long as you have a safe place to roll. br>br>That's all there is to it! To avoid dinging and denting anyone else's expensive trays/towers, we purchased a $10 dice tray specifically for this set. I hope you found this review to be helpful!.
Update - For the past few weeks, I've been buying metal dice from a variety of sources. Haxtec's molds need to be updated, in my opinion. They are the most expensive dice I've ever purchased, and they are significantly smaller than any other dice manufacturer I've dealt with. Because the quality is comparable, I don't see any benefit in purchasing Haxtec's metal dice at this time, aside from a nice but small dice bag that I've now outgrown. br>br>Original assessment - br>For the most part, the dice are fine; they aren't the easiest to read, but that can be remedied with some nail polish. The only real flaw is that they're slightly smaller than standard dice, which is strange because I've previously purchased Haxtec D20s that were perfectly accurate, but every dice in this set is smaller, including the D20s, than my original Haxtec D20s. Strange, but hey, they're metal and they're under $25 with shipping, so I'll put up with it.
