This is a high-quality product (as one would expect from Melissa and Doug) that includes a large number of pieces. My biggest gripe is that the design is only painted on one side, leaving the other white, despite the fact that stop signs and other road signs are only painted on one side. I think this is silly because when my son arranges the pieces on his train table, it's impossible to tell which piece is which because the design is only on one side. I've seen similar sets that were cheaper and had both sides painted.
This significantly increased the difficulty of our block play area! I also included a set of small peg dolls that are the perfect size for this block set. The kids adore them, and I've had to break up more than a few minor squabbles over the pieces because I have a few children who are desperate to play with all of the pieces and construct a complete city. br>br>In this newer generation, children lack the ability to engage in imaginative play. We are becoming a VERY visual society, and this is extremely beneficial to children who have a visual impairment. These are especially beneficial for my autistic children, who have a hard time engaging in imaginative play.
He adores miniature houses, cars, and anything else that can be used to create a "town" for him to play with. He squealed with delight when he saw it and begged us to open it as soon as possible! The structures are perfectly suited to his small hands. The pieces' quality has left an impression on me. They're heavy, but not excessively so, stand up properly, and have nice attention to detail. Even with heavy use, the painting appears to have a long life ahead of it. br>br>He's been playing with them every day for the past month, so they're definitely a hit!.
I just wish there wasn't a blank side because my son adores his little town. I purchased the carpet and the cars separately from various manufacturers. My only gripe is that the buildings and signs are only printed on one side; as you can see in the photo, my son prefers them all to face the same way.
It is of excellent quality, and my son enjoys it immensely. However, I despise the fact that the back was left unpainted. I would have paid a few dollars more if the artwork had been continued on both sides. He has a lovely city on one hand. He, on the other hand, has a two-year contract. cartoon with three dimensions.
When my 3-year-old grandson saw this town peeking through his Christmas wrapping paper, he demanded that it be removed IMMEDIATELY. He adores everything about it. He enjoys putting the trees and signs up. This set will provide me with many years of enjoyable playtime. Melissa and Doug toys are a household favorite because of their superior quality and design.
For Christmas, I'm going to get this for my youngest son. He was EXTREMELY ecstatic. We opened it right away, and he spent the entire Christmas day playing with it. Solid wood is used for all of the pieces. The paint job is excellent, and there appears to be a gleaming clear coat as well. I couldn't fit everything back into the box in the same order as it had come out. It is, however, a must-have for any parent with children who enjoy wooden toys.
