It was my privilege to teach students in first and second grades. It is very difficult to loop the cloth on the loom and all the children were looking to me for help. The 14 children did not have the patience for it, some did not want to try, the few who did need help, but one boy's mom bought him a loom and loops so he could try. Maybe I'll try to find one in a store so that you can try it out. As difficult as it was for me to do, it was important for me to accomplish The ones I used to have when I was young were more loose. It is impossible to do with your There is just a tight fit. It was my pleasure to help.
Honestly, I think it is a great idea, but likely not a good idea for a 4 year old. As far as I'm concerned, I'm getting it anyway and it may be fun over the course of the year. A little at a time- The kids aged 11 and 12 have been playing with it for a few weeks last summer and oh did they get into My old one died, so I had to get another one, even though I've had one for a long time.
On my 7" loom I have green thread and on my 10" thread I have black thread. Their metal construction and sturdy construction are the reasons I like them so much
The loom I own dates back to 1950 (double loom) Several years ago, I bought an adjustable-sided table (tall and rounded sides) upon which I made potholders. 1. I just finished it. To remove the loops, affix rubber bands to secure them on while removing rubber bands. The last side of the potholder that is not on the loom is tightly tucked under the loom when I get to the last side. It makes a great deal of difference. The potholders had to be taken off the loom by my Mom after I had made them, and since the loom had been passed down from my sisters, I did not A coat hanger was fashioned into two hooks of different styles by my dad. They remain in my possession and I use them still today.

It's the kind of gift that keeps on *Buy this Metal Loop Loom and make a stitch like a pro! It features a vintage design, sturdy metal frame and excellent These are ideal gifts for kids and adults alike. We have spent the last few years gifting them to each of our children, and now they use them to make gifts for hosts when we are invited to dinners and parties. They are the kind of It is well curated to choose the perfect palette and color assortment for each grouping (pastel, bold, earth tones, etc. ). Having such a quality loom in my hands, I expect they will be cherished and used for a long time. Consider getting a plastic loom instead of the wooden one and saving some money? Here, we encourage you to choose quality over quantity to make a positive impact on the world.
I've tried both the plastic loom and nylon loops with gusto and can tell you that they didn't work out. While they fray when weaving, the hooks catch on the material, and in the end they come out much smaller once they are removed from the loom, don't hold their shape very well, and are rather flimsy anyway, more of a novelty than anything The tool kit is of higher quality, resulting in higher value for your money and a better product in return for your time. The kit is meant to be used, not just used as a Using this loom along with the metal hook and cotton loops guarantee a more user friendly experience and a better quality product. * I have no association with Harrisville, the brand of this loom (but holler if you are looking for it). An avid crafter, I am just a mom with years of experience. The result of years of trial and error for a waste not want not type. What kind of value is a lackluster product worth against the time it would take to make good use of it. It will be a delight to try their larger looms, and perhaps even buy someday hundreds of loops in bulk from them.
It's a stupid reason, so I've got you. I decided to make more in the winter because I get easily bored at that time of year. The kit turned out to be just what I wanted after searching around and I could not be happier. Enjoying a snowy afternoon was the best way to spend the day! Even those who love reading need a break from it from time to time. I like the loop colors because they are vivid and they are good in The loops made entirely of cotton are absolutely beautiful! It is my intention to purchase more loops so that more Christmas gifts can be made. It is only the price of these loops that I wish for to be improved.
There is one good thing about this loom It is low maintenance A sturdy piece. A result comes out in the form of nice thick pot holders that look better than those made with cheap nylon loops back in the day. You can consider these pot holders the "grown-up" version of kiddie When the pot holder is complete, it measures approximately 5 inches tall The square is 3 1/4 inches. A few things I like about the weaving it's relatively easy, although things get tight when you are at the end of 3 This loop consists of 4 segments. This part of the activity should be able to be done by kids on their own, though helping them on the last few loops might be helpful. A good way to ensure that I start strongly stretching all loops is to stretch them before I weave. Despite the fact that they are not as stretchy as old nylon loops, the new ones do fray a little When I finish making the pot holder, I trim off the leftover strings that I found when trimming the loose strings. As well, I was not impressed with the color selection of the loops that came in As in the booklet, I did not receive enough of one color to make the patterns shown. Also, the colors were not evenly distributed (I got great deal of pink). My loops were expensive, but it was a happy accident that I had purchased extras. In my photos, you can see that I used the extra loops I had purchased in the pot holders. There are not enough colors to do this with the kit. The kit didn't have any black loops or anything that could be construed as "designer" loops. The majority, if not all, of the loops in this kit are bright. I am not proud of the fact that finishing the last edge of the potholder is a real pain. It is impossible for a child to do this on his or her It is difficult even for me to come up with creative ideas as an adult. You can finish off the first three sides relatively easily, but if you just breathe wrong, that potholder will come right off the loom as soon as you try to finish the last side. Once that happens, your whole project comes apart. It would be best to start back at the I hate it! As I finished weaving the last side, I twisted a rubber band around the last side, and as I finished weaving the first three sides, I used paper clips to stretch them and connect I removed the heavy duty binder clips as I worked, and replaced the rubber band after I reached the end of the page. While it was a pain, with the rubber band, the binder clips, and the paper clips, it got the job done. In order to use it as it is, the loom needs to have longer posts or some kind of attachment to secure the last side, as it's nearly impossible to do so without them already. In addition, I'm worried that the hanging loop will not be secure enough to withstand laundering, and I'm sewing it with a needle and thread to make sure it is safe and secure. Finally, I would say that the loom can be used to design nice pot holders, once you get used to the trickery Before then, you may end up tossing the entire project into the trash, since the first couple of pot holders can be quite Still, hold on to your hats. The harder it is the easier it gets.
My 8-year-old son got this as a gift. It took me a while for her to realize she was having trouble getting it started. The medical issues she has cause her arms and hands to weaken, and for her, pulling the loops through was difficult, especially as we ended the potholder. Perhaps other 8 year olds would be able to do it more effectively. When I tried to finish it off for her, I was surprised to find that it was too hard for me to handle As far as the metal frame is concerned, it is A plastic frame is something I would never recommend! The two potholders were shown to have plenty of loops, just like it promised. It is very nice to see such vibrant colors in loops. It would have been a 5 on my scale It isn't hard to pull through the last loop, only the last few loops are difficult. If an 8 year old is to finish it off, I would suggest an adult do it!.
