This set of Crayola Twistable colored pencils is not to be purchased. They're the worst pair of shoes I've ever had. The leads are extremely waxy and are difficult to color. It's as if the pigment has been removed. It takes a lot of pressure to get the color on the paper (even dark colors), and if you apply too much pressure, the lead will break or slide back into the pencil. I have an older set of these that I like, but the new set isn't worth the money.
Simple to work with. I saw the smaller pack at Walgreens, and the 50 pack was on sale on Amazon the other day, so I had to get these as well. Yesterday was the first time I used these. I don't have any of the problems that others have mentioned (not vibrant, waxy, etc. ). They work for me just like regular colored pencils. And there's no need for me to sharpen them. Win win. The only thing I wish it had was the name of the color on the side, because depending on the lighting, the colored casing on the outside can look very similar to another color unless you try to tell the two apart.
These were a gift, so I ordered them. The package arrived with the appearance of having spent several years in a factory corner. Spots that have faded. The corners have been dented. The clear seal sticker is beginning to yellow. I was making a coloring kit case, so I opened up the pencils and placed them in the appropriate spots. All but two of the pencils had broken leds inside, and some of the lead pieces had fallen out and were strewn across the packaging's bottom. While I intend to return, there is currently insufficient time to reorder and receive the gift in time.
It's so much easier to simply twist the pencil lead down rather than stopping to sharpen and becoming frustrated if the lead breaks in the sharpener. And, as long as I keep them at a reasonable length, I don't have any issues with the lead on these breaking while I'm coloring. Colors have a high level of quality. I can color intricate designs as well as large areas with them, and my kids, ages 5 and 3, think so, too. I've included some examples of what I've colored with them.
I don't like how they don't use a lot of primary colors. They're packaged in a flimsy box as well. Two of the fifty I made had loose lead in them that fell out. They are excellent pencils, but they would be even better if they were available in a wider range of colors. They don't need to be sharpened, which is a huge plus.
Because I enjoy coloring, I was excited to receive a box of 50 twistable colored pencils. This box of twistable colored pencils arrived cracked open, with a few missing. Such a letdown.
I'm being shorted for the first time. Mom is a resident of a nursing home who enjoys coloring and prefers Crayola Twist. This is my first purchase of the 50. When she opened it, she was disappointed to find it was only a few pages long.
Colors are varied, with different and not so close shades, but the intensity of the colors is low, and some are barely visible. It's not easy to get those Pencils out of the box without strewn all over the place. br>br>The convenient twisting mechanism, which does not require sharpening, is the main reason I bought it, but it does not feel as smooth or sturdy as those old Crayola Twistables I already have, and many of the leads appear to be misaligned, making them feel tight and "locked" when trying to twist, as if I will break it at any moment.
