These are a little deceiving, to say the least. Despite the fact that it is advertised as a 65-piece set, it only includes 24 pencils and 40 sheets of paper. The case and each sheet of paper make up the 65-piece set.
They're still too young, in my opinion, to appreciate them. They weren't overjoyed when I handed them over. They think they're cool, but they don't seem to understand that you should take one of the included coloring sheets (there are also plenty of blank sheets), close the container, and place your coloring page ON the case before coloring. But, because they're only two and four years old, I'll keep them here until they're older. Some may argue that a two-year-old is far too young for it, but she adores coloring, and we limit her to colored pencils for the time being because, well, let's just say she enjoys coloring ON WALLS. These appear to be the most secure alternatives. That, and the fact that they are under constant supervision! In any case, she was overjoyed to receive a new case as well as a complete set of sharpened pencils. However, when she tries to color the drawings, she spills them on the carpet and pokes holes in the paper. So there you have it. They'll be saved for a later date by Grammy. They are, however, fantastic. It has a large handle. For small hands, this is perfect. To close the lid, there are "snaps" on the sides of the handle. There are also a lot of coloring pages and blank paper for the budding artist, as previously mentioned.
My eldest granddaughters were babysitting their younger sisters, and I know how bored they get. My granddaughter devised a routine for them to follow once their schoolwork was completed. They were given quiet coloring time so that the older girls could finish their homework. The little ones now have a place to put their colors so they aren't strewn about the floor.
These have been extremely beneficial in keeping my children organized. Normally, I find markers, colored pencils, and crayons all over the place, but I can easily spot when one is missing, and they quickly locate and store it.
This set is fantastic, and I would give it five stars if it included a pencil sharpener. It's great for storage and I bought it to keep in my RV.
Great starter kit for young artists (kindergarten). Included pictures have bold lines that can be copied to make multiples. Pencils snap in and out of the case easily so they don't get misplaced, and the carry case snaps shut so it can be taken with you.
We gave it to our 8-year-old granddaughter as one of her smaller Christmas gifts, and she absolutely loved it. The following morning, she spent at least an hour coloring with it. This is ideal for travel and comes at a reasonable price, so I highly recommend it.
You'd think that for $15, you'd get more than colored pencils and a stack of very small coloring paper, but you'd be wrong. This is a better gift for a child who is able to color small pictures. Also, keeping the pencils organized is difficult because they are difficult to put back into the case. This is unquestionably a gift for a child of a certain age.
