Questions & Answers

Why aren't gold and silver included in the 120 and 100 color sets, as they are in the 50 color set?

Thank you for contacting us. You're right; the 100 and 120ct Colored Pencils don't have any silver or gold in them. We'll let our Colored Pencil Team know about your request to include these colors. Please contact us at Crayola if you have any questions in the meantime. For more information, go to com/support. Wishing you a bright day!

Is this the same as the 100-count with the addition of 20 colors?

That is an excellent question! The 120 ct. Colored Pencils pack includes the original 100 ct. Colored Pencil assortment as well as 20 new colors. This includes favorites such as: br>br>lobster redbr>melonbr>sun yellowbr>atomic tangerinebr>outrageous orangebr>screamin' greenbr>forest greenbr>asparagusbr>sea greenbr>blue bellbr>mantateebr>midnight bluebr>pacific bluebr>bluetifulbr>dark bluebr>peri

What is the approximate length of these pencils? Is it the long ones or the short ones?

From sharpened tip to opposite end, the unused pencil measures 7" in length. These are the long pencils, as far as I'm concerned. Crayola's short ones are only about 4" long, according to my measurements.

Is anyone aware of the differences between the 20 colors in this set and the 100 colors in the previous set?

Just to be clear, there are two 100-piece sets. There are 60 colors in the 100 pack, plus 40 repeats. The other is a game called 100 Different Colors.

Is this the first time you've seen this box? This item arrived opened, with marks and damage throughout the box, as well as several broken pencil tips and only 113 of the 120 pencils included
3/5

It doesn't appear to be brand new (weren't some of the pencils in the box inserted backwards?). ) and certainly not as a present worthy. Very let down.

The best selection of Crayola pencils I've ever seen
5/5

I remember being excited a few years ago when I saw the 64 PENCIL box with built-in sharpener and thought I'd be able to get more colors than the standard 50 pencil box, but when they arrived, the 64s were mini pencils with no names on them. I chose these for my travel coloring bag because of their small size and built-in sharpener. Then Crayola came out with the 100 pack, which made me ecstatic - pencils that are full size and have the names written on them! I got some fantastic colors that aren't available in the larger crayon sets! Two of my favorite movies are Outer Space and Absolute Zero. As a result, I'm delighted to report that the 120 box is just as wonderful, if not better. The new "Bluetiful" is included, and the color is identical to the crayon version. To be honest, I don't think it's worth it because it's so close to "blue," but "Dandelion" is still in the set! If you're serious about coloring, the extra 20 colors are well worth it. br>br>* I've seen a few people who are dissatisfied with the way their product was delivered. Mine was in perfect condition, brand new, and had not been repacked. The box was designed to transport pencils, but I don't think it's ideal for long-term storage. It's too big and awkward to grab and change colors with. The box measures approximately 9" wide by 1" deep. 5" thick. Inside the main box (as in a 64 or 96 box of crayons), the pencils are divided into four compartments. I prefer to take out the pencils I use frequently and keep them in a cup, leaving the rest in the box. I use a lot of different sets of pencils at the same time. (I'd love it if Crayola had a section on their website dedicated to custom pencil boxes, similar to how they do with crayons, where you can fill a whole compartment with just one color if you want. ) Colors that are only available in the 100 or 120 pack, such as Outer Space, which I frequently use, could be ordered without the rest of the colors you don't require. Crayola should consider making a special multi-layer carry box with handle for a set like this to make it easier to carry, store, and organize by color)br>br>I highly recommend this set if you color flowers frequently and need subtle differences between shades of yellow, blue, purple, and other colors; for the price, these are well worth adding to your art supplies.

Rather, just burn your money
3/5

Okay, I'm a 30-year-old coloring enthusiast. I get it. But I bought these because I've always gotten good quality for a reasonable price from Crayola, and I'd say it's my go-to brand. So when QUARANTINE struck and I needed more colors, I found these and 120(! I was ecstatic to be a part of it. Cool packaging, and whatever was in good condition appeared to be brand new. - Take a look inside - RIGHT. OFF. THE. RIP. Several of the ones I see don't have their tips on them. Whatever the case may be with shipping and handling - Problem solved with the use of a pencil sharpener. So, since getting these, I've colored a few pieces - Rather than bringing me relaxation, it seems to bring me frustration. If the "leads" aren't falling out (below the wood), they're too crumbly to use and will disintegrate into dust before you even get close to the paper! Even after sharpening these damn pencils down to the got-to, I'm trying to color, not make sand art, Nubs keep falling out/crumbling, and I mean NUBBBBBSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS What the hell is going on here? You'd be better off burning your coins than purchasing these, as I previously stated. This is just my personal opinion.

Excellent value for money, as well as excellent pencils
5/5

Colored pencils come in many different sets for me. This set of Crayola Colored Pencils was bought for nostalgia and comparison. I've only ever had a set of 24 of these, and neither I nor my children have ever had more than that. I'm so glad I went ahead and purchased them! The color range is incredible, and I find that I use a lot more of the extras in this set than I do in the 100-piece set. Asparagus, Pacific Blue, Ultra Violet, and Burnt Sienna are just a few of the many colors available. As a result, I'm glad I'splurged' and got the larger set. These pencils have a good color payoff and sharpen easily to a fine point. Because they are sensitive to oils on your paper (from your hands or lotion), it is best not to touch it while using them. Simply lay down some paper or put on a drawing glove to get started. They blend well for a student grade pencil, even better than some higher priced ones I've tried, and if you use a light hand, you can get a lot of layers on the paper; they also work well with Gamsol for blending. This is a set that I would recommend to any colorist or colored pencil artist. They won't be lightfast or professional, but they'll be excellent for the hobbyist, colorist, or just for fun. In these, I created a portrait with multiple layers (at least 10) that I am very pleased with. Even compared to Prismacolors, they had less wax bloom. You will not be disappointed if you purchase these for your children or yourself.

Packaging, as previously stated, was terrible
3/5

I was excited to expand my colored pencil collection, but as soon as I opened the amazon box, I sensed something wasn't quite right. When I opened it, I discovered that the pencil box had been dropped and "repackaged. " As a result, instead of being able to see all of the colors included, the box is covered in giant packing labels that keep the box closed. That did a lot of good because the bottom was also torn, and they didn't even try to tuck the lid flap back into the box before applying the labels. The pencils were obviously removed from their original packaging and crammed back into any available space so that it could be shipped out. Luckily? Only four of the ten suggestions were not followed. However, I'm not optimistic that the lead inside the pencils hasn't already been harmed as a result of the product being dropped prior to shipment. The silver lining, I suppose, is that all 120 pencils were returned to their original box.

Packaging is in poor condition
3/5

The box of colored pencils had a large tear in the bottom when it arrived. The outside of the mailing package showed no signs of damage, which leads me to believe it was torn before being packaged. The box of 120 colored pencils had been opened, and all of the pencils had been thrown out into the packaging. I'll have to tape the box shut or find another way to keep the pencils contained. Nowhere in the description does it say that.
