What is the best sandpaper for this job? 180 or 220?

Besides the 80 grit, my sander included a variety pack with both the 240 grit and the 80 grit. Since I was only sanding the joint compound over the paper tape covering the joints in the drywall, I mostly used the 240. I found it to work

This is an excellent tool
5/5

A great tip and trick that saves a lot of time. In addition, While I have used the expensive porter cable sander for past renovations, this Wen gives me the same results. It takes a lot of technique to get a clean finish. Even if it wobbles for a few seconds if you let it chatter, you can easily adjust the pressure, direction of the travel, tool orientation, arm movement, and RPM to stop it, and this is true for the Porter Cable, too. You should take all this with a grain of salt since I've only sanded a little over 2,00 sq ft with both brands combined. My mistake was that I sanded too much with the rental. You will have almost no dust if you have a prefilter on your vacuum or you have a filter sock. We did not bother to install plastic for what you see in the The nearby surfaces do not have any thin dust layers. If you let the pad breathe periodically, you won't reduce suction and your pad will not cake up. As soon as you hear the vacuum motor stressing out and your CFMs dropping (every 10 minutes) be sure to brush your filter sock In fifteen minutes? In terms of specific feedback, we would like to hear Please note - It is built to a very high standard. Please note - The included sandpaper does not come into contact with the bristles due to the pad's size. Please note - Generally this is common sense but it may help to have a hose adapter on hand. I taped some items together that I had on hand. (I don't like using tape. )

General Tips Please note - Prior to sanding, you should scrape off your high spots, being careful not to gouge them or else you will end up with even more mud*- Try to center the sandpaper if you can, this is really important
Keep your vacuum clean by not overheating it. Using a breather will allow you to reduce the suction on Wen if need be, preferrably in places where your hose diameters change. Light up your flashlight with a bright beam of light A parallel system You can easily check for imperfections on the surface. Floating a non-electrolyte can cause gradual humps if you're not familiar with the technology Sewn from the inside out. Please note - Whenever you sand your new/untouched drywall, the paper will start to pill, feather, etc. Please be careful not to oversand it! It is highly recommended to let the pad and hoses breathe occassionally to avoid caking so that your CFMs remain high. You need to take care not to sand too much or too little if you're new at this. Having faith in your abilities will pay off in the end. Please note - *for the project shown in this video, it was possible to project directly on the painted wall with an Epson 5040ub after using a filter sock or prefilter device. This is *150". The fireplace used to be there. A recessed drop down screen will be mounted on the ceiling and there will be Just a temporary solution. This video wasn't really meant for a review, but here it is anyway.

Great! It works like a charm! As a residential painter, my primary focus is on residential homes
5/5

For the price, I could not expect much from the machine, and I have to admit that it delivered much more The final result was that I was able to sand down popcorn ceilings in an entire 1,800 square foot area. In the U. S. We hired them to work on our house and they completed the project The purchase of this device has already been made, so if it breaks down you can count on me to buy another one.

Buying it is the best way to do Take advantage of this fantastic deal! I feel as if I am going to cry when I think of all the mud I have sanded by hand over the years! We just took this for a test drive for an hour, and it was great! *br> *br>Eleven of the 69 are women In the box you will find 240 grit
5/5

A sandpaper of at least 150 grit is required unless you're removing popcorn ceilings. In fact, the 120 even takes it down much too fast. (If you really muck up the mud, this machine will remove it very quickly!) It's so easy, just use light pressure, the appropriate grit, and variable speed and it works like a charm &ndash After you apply the primer, you will get a beautifully smooth finish. There is a little weight to the device, but it is not too heavy since your hand is near the motor. It is easily cleanable around the edge of the vacuum and collects 98% of the dust, but it is difficult to clean the middle of it. Clogged holes can be seen in the photo. A shop vac connected to my RIDGID keeps dust to a minimum. It's worth every penny whether you're remodeling one room or your entire apartment as I am or a whole house like I will soon be doing. Please do not forget to order extra 150 the next time you order You need paper with a grit of 240. The price for a 30 piece is $16 per piece with several vendors The range is 18 to 25 dollars. I have an update to share It was not packaged with both attachments when I purchased the sander. Now that I have one round head instead of both attachments, I wish I had bought the system with both attachments. To date, I have not been able to find replacement heads online, so I have sent an email to A triangle attachment would be great. Hope I can buy it. The edges and corners of the board will be much easier to sand. I wish you all the best while sanding!.

Comparing the unit to a higher end model
4/5

As a professional drywall finisher, I once worked in the construction industry. A high quality set of tools was available to me. We used a hand sander to sand The Porter Cable vacuum sander features a 9" vacuum hose. As I no longer work for that company, I no longer have access to the tooling as well. The WEN unit was ordered because I needed it for this purpose. Upon first glance, I noticed this model to be lighter in construction than the WEN. The pros and cons of that are outlined below. In the long run, though, it will be easier to use (although sanding a ceiling will never be easy), but the durability of the tool has been compromised. A sturdy pole surrounded by a tight-fitting vacuum chamber is composed of sturdy plastic, but the plastic around the sanding wheel is made of lighter This piece was cracked not long after it was made (see photo). Although this situation may seem to affect the tool's performance, it doesn't seem to affect its function. Moving forward is important to me. The sanding head, in combination with a professional grade shop vac with the correct filters, seems to get clogged quite often, even when hooked up to the shop vac. It was never entirely clear why this happened, but as soon as I saw excess dust begin to fall from the sanding head, I knew it was time to stop, turn the head over, and tap until the vacuum holes were cleared. I want to add the following small There is no information about the size of the hose. The design did not fit with anything I own. To connect my shop vac hose with the provided one, I taped the hose into the hose. Second, I found that it worked well. Third, it was the placement of the motor. The motor can be mounted directly on the sanding head, but it has pros and cons. Being unable to change rotating parts is an advantage when it comes to not having flex drives. There is a negative of this since the motor is ingesting dust and ruining the motor brushes (which is why an extra set is sent). A second affect of mounting the motor on the head is the change in As a result of the placement of the handle and the design, the unit is fairly easy to manage, though it is still very My chatter was more pronounced with all this extra weight at the end. There were a number of times that this didn't work for me. Either my technique was broken or I made a poor design decision. The motor could be steadied by extending a finger from the hand that was holding the nearest handle and using that to hold onto the movement. In addition, I would like to mention There is a surplus of power and excellent control of speed. Sand any surface into a flat surface with this sander. That's good for taper joints (horizontal) but when it comes to butt joints (vertical) and corners (which can never be completely flat, but must instead be blended into the wall), the stiffness of the sanding head made it difficult to get close to corners. In other words, only the outer edges of a corner would be sanded. In addition, if you are not careful on a butt joint, you may sand through the edge-contouring tape before you have contoured the edges properly. In the corners and butt joints I had to sand by hand to solve this problem. The only thing that needs to be done is The summary is The quality of your purchase is determined by the price you pay. Despite its small size, this unit is very functional, powerful, and easy to store An easy and convenient option. As a summary, it is as follows. Works for me. the unit does not work as well as a unit that costs more (or more expensive). Someone who does their own work only in their home (and occasionally for family members) will find this tool to be a great tool. This product is not so expensive that you feel guilty for not using it constantly, but is of such high quality that you can get the job done way easier than by hand when the time comes. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
