In my case, it did not come with a case, but the description made no mention of one. As I didn't need the case, I didn't need it.

The problem has been resolved. Specifically, I purchased it to be used in heavy-duty environments. The first time I tried drilling a 1/2" hole into 1/8" steel, it made an unhealthy cracking noise inside the machine, when the drill broke through at the bottom of the hole, and ever since there has been an unclean sound coming from the gears even when I idle the machine. Sorry to hear that. 2 days have passed since the return window closed. A brief update As part of today's project, I drilled holes into 1 1/2" solid wood with a 6" hole saw. I was pleasantly surprised at how much power the machine had and how little overheating it suffered. It has been upgraded to a 5-star rating.
It is easy to tell its weight as soon as you pick it up. In steel I drilled a 3 1/2 hole bit, but it didn't even get hot while drilling. Control of speed is amazing.
We're not talking about the fragile power drill from the department store. You are going to have to get down to business with this one!.
It did not get hot like my other drills did. There are holes every 1/2 inch. I was extremely impressed with how well it handled since it was mild steel.
A powerful statement! I am having a difficult time finding a replacement for my aging.
