Questions & Answers

Has anybody else run into an issue with the drill in the DCK299P2? A guy claimed to have bought three units and all were defective at the same time?

I have had a binding issue with my drill Chuck since I bought it. The website should still be usable for the time being. There was an issue with the impact Chuck and the bits could not be locked in, and it lost all speeds except fast. After just 30 minutes of using a new impact grinder, it was spitting and smelling like burning plastic. It now works without a problem. It will be interesting to see how it goes. My personal preference is to go with another brand I've been using DeWalt for more than two decades. Apparently, DeWalt has declined in the past few years. We won't buy anything else from here on out.

Is there any reason why the P2 kit costs $90 more than the M2? There is a difference between retail prices for four items. The battery only has two ah and five hp. It costs only $10 to buy 2 packs of 0 Ah batteries. ?

As with the M2, the P2 kit is the same as the M2 kit, except for A) The batteries in P2 are 5AH compared to 4AH in M2 B) The case in P2 is plastic as opposed to the bag in M2 Both the charger and the tools are kept in a hard plastic case. Please take note Batteries in the 5AH size are exactly the same size as batteries in the 4AH size. The capacity of five AH batteries is zero. The 4AH is 5 ounces lighter. Getting 5AH batteries is definitely a good idea.

It is possible to choose the "hammer drill" option or does it always go into ?

There is a dial for selecting the hammer feature.

How come the drill does not have an LED light?

The handle base in the front is embossed with the word 'L'.

The tool is poorly constructed and has bad switches and batteries that do not fit snugly
3/5

This set appealed to me specifically because it had the 5AH batteries, they were brushless, and they provided the "latest technology" in contrast to the combo sets that offered up last year's models. It was important to me that I have the very best, so I purchased A joke, what a prank. During operation, there were a few hiccups the directional switch on both units jacks There's floppy and slippy switches on the Hammer Drill This product feels worn out because it takes very little effort to move in and out with the slightest bumps, and the impact driver switch is so difficult to move that it's annoying to operate without using a lot of Another issue with the 5AH batteries is that they are not snug enough for the tools. When you raise the tool and lower it to use it, you can hear the batteries clunk and move back and forth. What the heck? There is no other way to describe how annoying it is When your hand feels this sensation, it makes you instinctively think that something is amiss Sloppy work, what a crock I'm counting on you DeWalt. Before they ship them out, do they really check the quality control at the DeWalt assembly plant? As I read other reviews, it sounds like the switches are an issue, so I'm glad I read more and have decided to return them. Milwaukee and Makita will be on my list of brands to research, perhaps even the lower priced ones. I feel like my Ryobi is a more high-quality tool when compared to my Ryobi. It is smoother, balances better, and is It's understandable that Ryobi is rated as a weekend hobby tool, while DeWalt is a professional tool that people use daily, but my cheapy Ryobi totally feels more solid, and it's been around for three years. It's disheartening to see the quality of DeWalts products. This has sucked up so much of my time. It's time to go back to the UPS store to drop them It is only now that I have seen a reply from DeWalt. It was nice of you to respond. After I requested a new set, Amazon sent me the standard set, and the problems remained. Even more worrisome was the condition of the forward and reverse switches. In exchange for crediting my account, both sets were sent back to Amazon. Having returned to Home Depot to try out the displays there, I have tested out a few tools. It is interesting that I lived in Iowa when I bought these from Amazon. My next stop after my Davenport Iowa Home Depot visit was to compare batteries and switches. I liked the switches in the units at Home Depot in Iowa. A tighter fit. The batteries still felt loose and clunky, but they were feeling better. The DeWalt demo units in the Colorado Home Depot in Loveland were awful! I've since moved to Colorado and visited the Home Depot there. There were some cases where the switches didn't work at all! The switch on one of them only moved back and forth and did not do All of the display units have been switched on. They didn't feel like they were learning anything new. Several of them seemed to be defective, so could DeWalt be joining those companies that are willing to compromise quality to save money? My request is to get a higher price-point unit and to have switches that work and batteries that fit correctly. If you could charge me more, I'd gladly do so. Having recently purchased a DeWalt 14 gallon shop vac, I can tell you that I am delighted with it. It is my hope that I will not be DeWalt used to be known for its quality, but what happened to it? There are return policies on Amazon which makes me confused, but thankful. It would be appreciated if you could DeWalt. . . If you can, please send an 887 with working switches, and we can find a battery that is not so loose that I have to tape it on with duct tape. My loyalty to DeWalt will once again be that loyal one that I strive to be. Please change my mind and provide a logical explanation so that I can once again be that loyal user! It will be adjusted in my review as soon as possible.

This is my first experience with Dewalt and I'm loving it! The product was exactly what it said it would be! After 4 years with Makita, switched to AKS! I'm looking forward to seeing what happens!

The kit is awesome A lot of love for the brushless This model has a 4AH battery and is quiet
5/5

My previous 18V combo set was an older DeWalt, and upgrading was a great decision.
A brushless motor is more powerful than one with a brushed motor. Because the rotor and stator have an air gap between them, less energy is lost through friction (heat). Brushes are the part of a brushed drive that make contact with each other These things eventually wear out and need to be replaced due to friction and heat. While brushless motors are more complex and expensive, they eliminate that, allowing them to generate more power at the rotor, while using the same amount of power. In addition, brushless motors are often smaller than their counterparts. I now have a smaller drill and impact driver than I had before, and I think this is very important Irwin Speedbor drill bits are one of my favorite items - I especially like the smaller ones I am referring to the three-parts The screw nose of the bladed bits has flutes. By pulling the bit through wood, you can drill holes quickly and easily, at least until you reach the back edge of the wood. Anyhow, drilling holes through joists or studs to pull wire where framing is already complete can be difficult or impossible without the proper tool The angle drill uses the following angles There is no need to drill The fifth sentence). It does not matter how long a Speedbor bit is in this drill (since it's brushless) because the bit will easily fit into standard stud cavities. Now I don't need to borrow, steal, or beg to gain access to the It is possible to drill at an angle. In the world of impact drivers, the As far as the charger is concerned, nothing special to report, as one would expect it to work as it should. There is a 4AH battery included in this kit, and I like it. The batteries in many DeWalt kits have a capacity of 2AH. It will last a lot less time with those To be precise, it will last half as long. Better to have the extra longevity instead of needing to swap out batteries in the middle of the job. Although perhaps more costly than the alternatives, this can make your life easier. It is a MAX variety, but it is worth every cent, and I regret nothing about it. You must dream big or you will never make it! This week's update We have used and abused these tools for more than a year and a half and they are still productive. Although they might be dinged and nicked, they are still in good working shape. I have since purchased a few other tools using this battery system and I am even more appreciative of the 4AH batteries. As I buy a 6AH battery to use with the orbital sander, the extra run time is nice. I also use the battery to run the electric drill. It's easy to switch between them when working on bigger projects, and thanks to the rapid charger that comes with this kit, I never run out of energy. My personal opinion is that two power tool systems can be considered worthwhile to buy There are two types of DeWalt 20V Max Milwaukee Fuel and DeWalt 20V Max. It may cost you a little more up front, but you will avoid having to replace a broken tool a few months down the road, which is actually more cost-effective.

It seems to be a good set of These are great and I'm glad I got them
5/5

Since buying all of them together is cheaper than getting just the impact driver, I chose this kit instead of the impact driver. As well as the tool bags, they're great. It's great that the drill works so well. With a chuck like this, this is as well balanced as you can get for a 3 speed drill. Essentially, the light has three settings, so if you really need the light, you will be able to turn it up pretty brightly. As a result, the clutch doesn't allow the motor to keep spinning during a slipping period, it 'shimmy's' it for a few seconds (and then stops) when it senses that the load exceeds The wear and power consumption of mechanical parts are reduced. In terms of quality, the chuck certainly seems very well made, and there are not many problems with wrenching it down on a drillbit. The sleeve is made of metal as well. The handle goes on securely if you want to use it. My only complaint about the drill is that it is a little flimsy in terms of safety. A few clicks of the mouse and you've got it. A lot of torque in the low speed range, and a lot of speed in the highest speed range. There is nothing better than an impact driver. Besides the 3 torque settings (speeds), the tool is also very well balanced in your hands. In addition, the light is positioned in a radial manner around the hex chuck, not at the foot like This seems to be a very well made item, but I have not used it as much as I should. 'Safety' on this one is pretty stout, as I was surprised to find. The brushless motors on both of these tools seem well-built, and I like the size of the handles. As I get to use them more I'll update this review when they've seen their day as far as battery life or longevity is concerned.
