Questions & Answers

To what extent does the distance between the centers of one magnet and the next magnet approximate? Despite my small table top, I have a lot of stuff on it. ?

In the late twenties. This is equivalent to 5 cm or 10 inches. It is about 5 inches long. 29. Start from the end of the magnet pointing outwards, so you can make sure the magnets are fully on your table. A 5cm square and an 11-inch square. A 75-inch screen

The fence does not square with the blade. What should be done?

The front teeth of the blade should be covered by a 30/60 plastic square. Ideally, the trunnion should be parallel to the slot. If not, loosen bolts of trunnion and tap table to realign. The article "No blade drift" by Alex Snodgrass.

Are you sure this is square (perpendicular) to the Is it possible to achieve a perfect 90 degree?

In mine, the square was about one eighth of an inch out. You may want to check your band saw table and your table saw table against it. In the same vein. The item was returned and a new one was ordered. We'll have to wait and see how the second one works out.

The saw can be used on a 9 inch table top bandsaw. What is your name, Don Farr?

The depth of the steel table will determine how much space will be available on it. There is about 15" of length on the Carter MAGFENCE. Although the distance between the magnets beneath the fence are 12 ", the fence is held in place by the distance between the magnets on its outer edge. In that case, if you have a 12" deep table, you will be fine. In this case, the fence ends would hang over one foot on each side. Magnets would not hold on to 5" but would hold on to 1" magnets.

I am very pleased with how easy it is to Combined with the Carter's F, this was purchased directly from Carter's

An alignment bar (for the fence). I have a positive impression of the project It's solid, well made, and once one of the magnets is turned on, it sits perfectly square to my bandsaw (Jet 16") table as far as I can tell from using The FAST bars made it extremely easy to square it up to the blade. Using the tool for the first time (and the only time so far), I created 16 tennon and open mortise joints (as seen in the pictures). With the fence set at the blade and a T-shaped cutting blade, these cuts can be made With the track flip stop, the 1/8" FAST bar was used for setting up the saw for cutting the arms, and the 3/16" fast bar was used for cutting the tenons. tennons on the set up test cuts were a little too thick, so I put a little lateral tension on the blade while setting the fence, and it corrected the difference between the kerf and the border of 3/16" to 1/8". Getting the results I wanted was pretty easy, and I'm very happy with the outcome. My bandsaw has taken on a whole new dimension thanks to this fence. Here's how six months have gone It's amazing how useful this is. To resaw with the "F," it takes about 30 seconds to get it set up. As soon as they are set, T bars hold firmly. It is impossible for me to add a star to my update, and I doubt that I will add one, but the tool looks like it would be great to.

Easy to install, no bolts needed - perfect for your bandsaw You can turn on or off fast

So it was not 90 degrees (the fence square to the table was locked down), instead it was 90 degrees. You can see in the first photo that there are 3 A large amount of daylight can be seen between the fence and the machinist square as shown in photo 2. On the electronic square, lock the fence to the table and position yourself a 3 degree angle. One good thing about these bands is they come with adjustment screws for you to square the fence to your As you can see in the picture, the fence has been squared up In the area between the fence and machinist square, there are no lights. Pricey, but I like having access to a fence without having to drill a hole in the table to take it. For cutting scales, this works well for me as a knife maker. In comparison to Carter's site, Amazon's prices with shipping were significantly lower.

A Not So Good Day In other words, a square fence
3/5

It is a great concept, but because I received a fence that was not square to my table, I received the wrong fence. As far as I am aware, Carter does not care about the quality of their products (or customer service, if my recent experiences are an indication). This item was purchased along with the faceplate in hopes that I wouldn't have to resort to shims, but I knew I might have to because I didn't want to get ripped off! My recommendation is to buy the switches instead and make your own if you want the fence itself square, and that will not be a deal breaker for you.

Magnets will not work if it is aligned because it's so far out of square

As my bandsaw table (an older craftsman 14") does not have fence holes, I was really excited to buy this product, but as soon as I got it out and adjusted it, it turned out to be useless. As it was right out of the box, the fence itself was out of place. For this problem, the fence includes a few set screws to adjust the tilt of the fence (which should not be a problem in the first place). In the first place, one of the set screws had some crushed threads, so the nuts that came with it wouldn't fit smoothly. Which is what it was designed for in the first place! When the magnets were engaged, they had a space of nearly 1/4" between them and the table! It was also virtually impossible to adjust before turning on the magnets - because the fence was constantly tilted until engaged - so attempting to set it in place first (before turning on the magnets) was Could you tell me how difficult it is for Carter to mill two pieces of aluminum to sit squarely next To square it up, it may need to be adjusted a bit (in the thousandths range) but not this much.

I have returned this and will replace it with the Kreg fence and drill holes in my new.

The blade I use is a new Timber Wolf 6 tpi blade, and I'm happy with it
5/5

Benchtop Rikon saw on a small table. I am now able to use my band saw as a precision tool because of this fence. In addition to some people's comments, the fence wasn't perfectly square out of the box, however I simply added a few strips of masking tape across the bottom of the board on the inside and it was as square as it could be. In my view, this is simply due to a manufacturing tolerance of the rubber strips on the front and back of the fence that compress when the magnets engage with it. I took the pictures below right after I cut my first From a scrap 2x4, I cut 1/16" veneer slices and had 1/128" variation in the thickness of the slices. The blade I use is a new Timber Wolf 6 tpi blade, and I'm happy with it. This small Rikon 10-inch tablesaw is set on a benchtop An electric motor with a 34 horsepower powers the 305. When you set the magnets at the widest setting, they are effective on the 12" dining.
