These work well for removing tiles from the floor when one of the holes needs to be stepped up. They may not work for much use in the day. They're a great daily tool for tile work. I also use them, especially the inexpensive one. The hole saws require a guide to use easily, although I make one using a hole saw similar in size to this one, cutting board included. A flawless 2" x 5") hole will be cut by the tool within about fifteen seconds. In my case, there were no noticeable chipping marks around the hole saw, so I was not concerned. Making these kind of systems work properly relies on an adequate amount of light pressure, a lot of water and high rotational speed.
If your porcelain tile isn't as well made, use a high-tech drill and cut one hole, and create a template using the method used online that is similar to, but does not require beginning at an angle and working your way to, level. While it didn't produce perfect cuts when it was used with the angle method, it proved to work well enough.
Despite my active professional responsibilities and non-negotiable belief, I do not often purchase cheap tools. The only requirement for this was for me to add one hole to a granite countertop. As far as I knew it would survive the first cut. It ended up being through away for me. When you cut that one, it wasn't the only one to make the cut. The amount of cuts made is quite impressive, however for a small fortune. The whole set I order is shipping at this time.
It is easy to cut concrete with straight edges. The spray works great. Cutting holes for concrete paving with this tool was used arrounds. Having multiple bits on would have been too hard since only one went through 10 pavers that measured 2 inches. A drill was used as well as lots of water. It would be highly recommended.
You will find it to be of high quality.
While I was skeptical because of their low cost, these hole saws make super hard tile work great. I ordered two of these in the same size believing only one would be good in each hole; instead, I cut three with one 2-inch hole. The bit did not touch my backup, as I didn't have any trouble with it.
Finished my job well. It's quite possible that a professional can't perform well for long. I would highly recommend these for my DIY needs.
The idea was not as it should have been. A drill press or any other piece of equipment will be required to hold this all in place, which can make the drill bit jump around at will. I ended up using cement board to make my cuts. Not pleased with the result.
