This is a lot better than the Bosch bits that are meant to be used on a variety of materials but usually dull if you hit a hard rock. These bits have held up better than the Bosch bits meant to be used on a variety of materials. By using a hammer drill, it was easier to penetrate the older block, as a regular drill would have been unable to penetrate it easily, and also caused the bits to burn up more quickly.
To attach foam board insulation to an 80 year old concrete foundation, I bought 8 x 5/32" bits to drill about 80 holes of 1 inch diameter. The drill bits took a long time to drill because they took so long to go through. I got about 30 holes out of all 5 of them.
