It seems that this tool rest would be appropriate for interior curves. Could it also be used for exterior ?

This is what I turn on for exterior bowling and it works really well.

How do I know if this will fit ?

As long as you don't want to have a dozen different-shaped tool rests lying around (I don't), you can easily overcome that issue

The following is an example. One of the best tool rests I have ever used is the Robust tool rest. It is solid and well built. This one is the exterior curved tool rest it has a curved surface. Bowl interiors will not be able to utilize this technique. Although I agree with some folks that the curve may not be appropriate for all bowl shapes, no rest is perfect. As long as you don't want to have a dozen different-shaped tool rests lying around (I don't), you can easily overcome that issue. It is hard to choose between the different Robust accessories, and all are excellent. Anyone who is interested in Robust should try it out.

You don't need to tell the wife, just buy! No one would want to sound like a mockingbird by posting this review, but yes as others have noted, the curve of this rest will not be acceptable You may ask how that can be that this should go for all bowl tool rests

The quality of the build is far beyond any other tool rest I've used. The Robust rest has been a life-saver for me, and I have ordered a third. Yes, you may cry a little over the price, but in the long run, it will pay for itself. Taking one drink of whiskey will not make you regret your purchase, but it will help you relax.

I've used the tool rest on the outside surfaces of curved items. Tool rest works well on curved surfaces of bowls and has also been used on the interior when hollowing. It works well on the outside curved surfaces of bowls as well. The tool rest should be good.

This is an expensive but worthwhile purchase

I was hesitant to purchase this tool rest because it is fairly expensive. But having used it for a few weeks, I am convinced it is worth the cost. It is very solid and provides a very firm rest while cutting larger Even out at the edges, the rest is beefy enough to provide a good level of support.
