It was not possible to use a wrench larger than 1/8" thick to fit on the clutch nut on a 1988 BMW 325. used a piece of 1/8th inch flat stock that was 2" x 24". After cutting out the 36mm with a jigsaw, it looked great. Look at the depth of the opening to see how it worked. The other option is to purchase this for $38 at Amazon plus shipping, or $32 at Sears.

2" out of alignment. I'd like to open the third end. With a width of 25 inches and a height of 25 inches. I have 560 thank yous. This is the end of box The diameter of the ball is 375". The letter is X.
For the sole purpose of removing a fan clutch from a Chevy 5, I purchased this tool. The first thing I tried was a big crescent wrench, but it wasn't long enough to get good leverage in the tight space, so it kept falling apart, etc. I did consider buying an official fan clutch wrench, but they all looked cheap stamped metal that wouldn't last very long. Despite a few small issues with the ring, this did the job perfectly and I'm sure it will last me for several lifetimes! The tool seems well constructed, nice finish, and it squeezes snugly around a 36mm fan clutch nut. I have an addiction to tools, so I don't mind getting another one, and having it with me to loan out to neighbors, etc.
The weight of it surprised me at first, and I was pleasantly surprised at how heavy it My radiator fans are 36mm in diameter, so I got this specifically for that purpose. It works just fine for that purpose and can still fit in the tight space between the fan and the My choice was to get an actual wrench that was the same size rather than the alternative are that are stamped steel wrenches. I would definitely recommend this!.
A few pounds. That's exactly what I was looking for. I had to remove the right side muffler in order to get it on so I used the part between the exhaust and frame. It's also not possible to walk into your local tool store and purchase If you can find one, you'll have to pay a ridiculous price for it. I made the right choice when I bought this as I will not use it very much.
It was a great tool at a reasonable price. S10 pickup with a 4 liter V6 engine. along with a tool to stop the water pump pulley from turning, and a 3lb engineers hammer worked great, and held up well (didn't need too much force to remove the fan clutch and fan from the end of the old water pump. . . to clean the wrench and the holding tool, then was surprised at how quickly I could remove the No hammer is necessary to tighten the fan clutch on to the new water pump, and it works great! No more measuring and measuring a number of inches!.
Even with its large size of almost 19 inches, it is relatively light and slim. With my BMW 328i, I was able to easily remove inner tie rods and replace them with new ones. By virtue of its size, it saves a lot of time and gives you a graded pressure when tightening. It's like having a wrench and a breaker bar in one.
To loosen the nut, I had to hammer on it. As a result, the wrench developed a small curve. The thing is, it was pretty sturdy as it performed the task. It's a good product for occasional use, so I would recommend.
When I replaced the water pump on my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500, I also purchased the Lisle 44180 Fan Clutch Spanner Wrench. I thought it was an expensive way to go, but these two tools made what is likely to be the most difficult part of the job very simple.
