What is the size of the Dewalt and crescents? Some very large bolts can be handled with the largest wrench. The largest is for sizes ranging from a 1 to a 1. 5 inches
I'm not sure if the handle is made of rubber or plastic, but it's extremely tough and secure. The handles, unfortunately, are much wider than all steel wrenches. My usual breaker bar, a piece of pipe, won't fit in these. Just a heads-up that these are high-quality wrenches.

Engineer with long hair who does everything himself. I bought this Irwin wrench set to complete a set I'm putting together at our other property so I don't have to bring tools with me all the time. This set outperforms anything you can get new from Craftsman, Kobalt, or Crescent for twice the price! The set I received all worked smoothly and without the annoying slop that most brands' adjustable wrenches have these days! If it matters to you, I compared the jaw opening to laser etching of size with a caliber and found that they're pretty close, not perfect, but close enough. I don't use an adjustable wrench for anything, but if I did, I'd point out that the etching is a little faint, but smearing with a bright paint marker and wiping away the excess would make them stand out. I'm pleased with them, and I believe that even the most ardent DIYer would be as well! Kleins are the only adjustable wrenches you should consider if you're a pro these days.
In my 10 years of wrench turning, these are by far the worst cresent wrenches I've ever used. To begin with, the grip will come loose after the second or third use. Second, these rogues are more loose than a sue. You must keep the worm gear in your hand the entire time, or it will unspin on its own. Third, the material used for the handles doesn't work well with grease or oil, so once they're dirty, they're like slipping and sliding in your hand; I recommend getting a set from Dollar General before purchasing these. I'm not sure how they've managed to get so many positive reviews. It can't be real mechanics, can it?.
At this price, it's difficult to beat four wrenches with good tolerances and a good return on investment. br>br>However, I have to dock them at least a full star because of two flaws: 1) The surface is dull, and the side markings are difficult to read. While having metric on one side and inches on the other is convenient, I find it difficult to read the settings and have to hold them at various angles to get enough reflection to read them. br>br>2) They have hard, square grips that will help prevent slipping. They're not "comfort grips," nor are they as ergonomic or helpful in assisting you as they could be. br>br>Aside from that, this is a very affordable set that would complement any Irwin tool collection. Instead, I decided to put my money into Channellocks. The markings are very easy to read, the grips are excellent, and the doors open much wider.
Purchased for aircraft maintenance, the value of having a variety of sizes cannot be overstated. It's a godsend to be able to get into tight spaces with the smallest wrench while maintaining a large opening. send. These wrenches' adjustability is superior to that of other brands I've used. In addition, the grip is an improvement over previous models. More torque can be applied without causing hand fatigue as a result of the increased comfort. It's also less difficult to keep clean. They also fit nicely in a toolbox because of the carrying tray they come in. Without the need for additional tool shadowing, you can create a box. Right out of the box, they have a place to live. This is an added benefit.
I'd been using a set of Harbor Freight adjustable wrenches for years and decided it was time to upgrade. I was fed up with the sloppy jaws and the difficulty in spinning the adjuster after torqueing a bolt with them. These nuts and bolts aren't much better. And, unlike the HF, they aren't chrome, making them more prone to rust; they also had a lot of oil on them, indicating that Irwin is concerned about rust. br>Not the level of quality that I would expect from a Vise Grip product.
He snatched the wrenches from the counter and carried them into his garage. I was impressed, as was he, because they were heavy, had good grips on the handles, and moved smoothly and freely; I'm sure they'll last a lifetime.
These are tools of exceptional quality. Since I was a child, I've had a sizable tool collection. I'm 67 years old, and these may be the best product I've ever purchased in terms of quality. I don't usually give five stars and a glowing report, but they're a pleasure to work with. You get the impression that you have a firm hold on the nuts.
The laser markings were pretty accurate when measured with a caliper. The quality of Chinese-made wrenches appears to be satisfactory. The laser markings were fairly close when measured with a caliper. On the 6 inch, the jaws' opening width was slightly smaller than the package markings, but much larger on the 10 and 12 inch. Two of the wrenches that had become stuck after being cycled open and closed a dozen times have now been freed, and everything works fine. Although the finish appeared to be in good condition, if exposed to wet or corrosive environments, the lack of plating could cause it to rust quickly.
