The question you pose is very good. It just arrived today, and I'm having difficulty pulling off the packaging. The tab broke off, so I had to use pliers to take it out. I was not able to remove it easily, but I did
As far as I could tell, it looked like it had been Due to the fact that I sent it back, I cannot look at it now. The Craftsman tools I bought were made in China, rather than the USA where I thought they were made. If you are working, you do not want things to go wrong with your impact socket. Upon arrival, it was in excellent condition. As part of my routine brake inspection, I examined the rotors. It makes me angry how car companies use cheap parts even though they should be using more expensive ones. For instance, my car companies use 7/8" nuts, but I rounded off the flats on some nuts. As the name implies, lug nuts are threaded through the wheel. They have a chrome cap that makes them look like real lug nuts. The caps are not tight and can easily deform.
This is the replacement for a 21mm that would not fit anymore and I didn't want to mess up my entire set. To remove the lugs, I first hammered it onto the lugs, and then removed them. No mark could be found on this thing after it had done it all. I love it!.
With a breaker bar, removing lug nuts is a breeze. The torque wrench goes along with it, so I was able to reinstall the lug nuts to the right torque without having to guess how hard I was pulling on the car's wrench. The thickness did not pose a problem for me when it came to fitting.
Choose a 6 point socket over a 12 point socket at all costs. Do yourself a favor and make your life easier. Despite buying a new 27mm deep 12 point socket (not from this brand or vendor) at a big box store, it did not remove the front sprocket nut on my Ninja 300. I bought this handy 6 point at 27mm and it's what I needed for the upcoming summer On the off chance that it came with my impact wrench, I will give it a try. Off, in the sense of zzzzip. I'm glad you like I received it quickly as well.
Using impact sockets on lug nuts is a good idea since they have the thick walled steel. When using an impact socket of the proper size, you will avoid damaging the lug nuts and avoiding the socket from cracking, which can occur when applying high torque. Currently, this Craftsman has held up well and is of good quality. One of our SUVs has an OEM specification of 130 feet-long There is no need to worry about the lug nuts in this socket because it can handle them with ease.
