Thank you for your interest in the Maco MSHXLC 6 inch Magnetic Hex Driver, which has a 1/4" and 5/16" head. MSHLC1 is the part number you're looking for, and you can find it in Amazon's search bar by typing it in. br>br>Thank you once more, and have a wonderful day! Thank you for your time and consideration.br>
Yes, but I only use mine for screws with 1/4" and 5/16" heads.
Where it goes into the drill, it's hex. Above that, there is a rounded edge.
The yellow side can be accessed with a 5/16 allen wrench. The rotation of the drill vs. the rotation of the 5/16 allen wrench is all that matters.

However, BEWARE OF LOW QUALITY! This is my review for the short reversible bit, though I purchased both the long and short. br>br>I have a lot of mixed feelings about this product. On the one hand, it's been fantastic for all the obvious reasons. The magnet is both fragile and frangible, which is a disappointment to me. My bits now frequently drop 5/16" screws unless they have very tall heads because the magnet sticks out past the column it mounts in and breaks under light impact, while it more or less stops disintegrating once it's at level with the column. br>br>For the price, the magnet size, shape, and mounting appear to be inadequate. br>I'm thinking of putting these suckers on a giant magnet or something to make the head more magnetic overall. br>br>Buy at your own risk. P. br>br>P. br>br>P. br>br>P. The short bit magnet only lasted three days before it broke.
After only an hour of use, this bit broke. I'm an HVAC technician who requires high-quality equipment. I expected to get a lot of bang for my buck when I spend this much on a single item.
This is a step that the HVAC installer should have taken. From 1/4 to 5/26z, the transition is lightning fast. Metal fragments stuck to the magnet can be cleaned thanks to the design. Other magnetic drill driver bits do not have this feature.
First and foremost, I was sent the incorrect bit; I do not require another 5/16 - inch drill bit. 3/8 It's a little on the expensive side, but the versatility is worth it. br>br>I placed an order for the 1/4 pound. 5/16 - 6"br>br>I purchased the 5/16 - 6"br>br> I broke the magnet twice on the 3/8br>4" model, but I'm not the type to complain and expect a refund or exchange, so I bought another in the hopes that the durability would hold. It only lasted about two weeks before it succumbed to the same fate. br>br>In terms of the quarter - 5/16 I really like it, but I was sent the incorrect item!.
For my HVAC work, I used to buy the Makita 3-pack of extended bits; they were great, but I always seemed to lose one after a few months. This guy has taken the place of two of my most common sizes and is nearly impossible to get rid of. If I had to pick a flaw, it would be the pinch point at the bit-end. It would be nice if they added a bevel or something to the point where the shaft meets the bit. I try to remember where I put my fingers, but I still get bitten by it when I'm in a hurry.
The reversible tip is held in place by a well-built detent. Both ends of the magnet are sized properly to hold screws firmly and straight. The only thing I don't like about it is that the tip's major outside diameter is a little large, making it difficult to drive a screw right next to any kind of protrusion on the face of whatever material you're securing. br>br>Longevity is good; I'd say it lasts as long as or longer than other drivers of comparable quality.
What can I add to this that hasn't already been said? I'm a professional plumber and HVAC technician, after all. It's great to have something that serves two purposes, and instead of carrying two, all I have to do is keep this one loaded in my impact gun and I'm good to go.
Fantastic. Having two sizes in one tool is absolutely brilliant. This is something no one else has. I'm surprised the big boys haven't copied the concept. I've used this tool a few times as an electrician, but it's not something I use on a regular basis, so I can't comment on its durability. My only knowledge is that mine has not been harmed.
