Questions & Answers

Is this a set of genuine Klein tools? I was 15 feet in the air (on a scaffold) when the magnet from the one I bought last week fell out. What happened to the magnet?

These are, as far as I'm aware, genuine Klein tools. Mine, too, was quickly dislodged by the magnet.

Is it true that they are manufactured in the United States of America?

Since 1857, the majority of them have been. The US makes 14% more than other countries.

Is it true that these are made in Taiwan? I only purchase products that are manufactured outside of the United States. Products made in the United States are utter garbage. ?

Klein Tools are the best tools no matter where they are made. I went on a tour of the factory in north Chicago a long time ago, and the place was amazing, and the tools were far superior to anything else I'd seen.

After 3 hours of use, the magnet came loose
3/5

I've worked in the electrical industry for 25 years and used to only buy Klein tools. However, after using this nut driver for 3 hours today, the magnet came out and was on the 3/8 all thread, so it's no longer a heavy duty magnetic nut driver and has become a regular nut driver. As a result, I no longer purchase Klein tools. Klein has let me down yet again. It appears that I will be returning to Greenlee!.

They sent me a nut driver that was a rip-off
3/5

I had the original Klein Nut Driver and needed to replace it, so I bought this. Despite the fact that it says Klein Tools on the handle, the nut drive they sent me is not a genuine Klein Tool; the differences are minor but noticeable. The item tool number is not stamped on the hilt, the brown designation color for the 7/16 is a different shade of brown, and the handle is of lower quality. Someone attempting to pass off this poor knockoff as the genuine article is poor salesmanship and downright offensive.

"Importado por:" is written on the packaging
4/5

Mexico's Klein Tools". I'm not sure where these are made; they're labeled "importado por: ", so they could be a "grey market" item. Mexico's Klein Tools". The chrome has a few minor flaws, but they don't affect the tool's functionality; it's just not up to the standard I'd expect for a tool in this price range; Craftsman's chrome is superior. There is no size labeling on the butts of the handles, unlike in the photos, and only the color coded rings.

It's in desperate need of a better magnet
4/5

The top magnet ring is prone to breaking. I bought this for work and use it frequently, but I wish the magnet was still in it because it was very useful when installing nuts in hard-to-reach places. Aside from that, it's a fantastic nut driver in a hard-to-find size; I'll be getting the rest of the sizes to match this one and ditching my cheap craftsman nut drivers.

It appears to be a knock-off rather than a genuine Klein
3/5

This does not appear to be the level of quality that I have come to expect from Klein. There are a few minor details, such as the size ID on the hilt, that make it appear cheap. Also, for a "heavy duty" item, the shaft only inserts a few inches into the handle, which seems odd. Why did they make it so big, I'm not sure. It would make a lot more sense if they used their standard 7/16 size. Overall, it appears to be a knockoff rather than the genuine article. If I hadn't seen it first, I would have given it a pass.

Well-constructed
5/5

For years, I've carried this tool in my bag. In my line of work, I'm frequently exposed to 3/8 hardware to ground equipment. It was recently upgraded to include flat edges that resemble a hex head, allowing you to break bolts or nuts loose with a wrench.

3/8" threaded rod fits perfectly
5/5

I bought it to hang shelving from 3/8" threaded rod with 9/16" nuts, and it worked perfectly. br>hollow-through-hollow-through-hollow-through-hollow-through The shaft design is ideal for this job, but it retains the thickness and quality you'd expect from a KLEIN tool.
