As part of my order of November 2019, I received a hard plastic cap in clear. The blade is only covered as opposed to the cap on my years-old head There is no longer any use for this number. The blade and the knurled collar of the locking device were covered by one handle. It may not be as difficult to place on the blade as a smaller cap, but you'll have to be more careful with it.
This is carbon steel, not stainless Like this, stainless steel blades are coming to an end in 21. X221 is what the product id is for the 99 MSRP)
Precision is the focus of the #11 blade Thinning the material with a cutting blade. With it, you can certainly cut through a rubber mat, but the depth of cut and toughness of the mat severely limit how far you can go. Putting pressure on the blade could cause it to bend or crack. The kind of cutting I mentioned earlier is better suited to thicker boxes. In the event that the material is very dense, it would be better not to use the snap-in It is not advisable to use these blades under a heavy load, as they could snap off. This is a model of the blade.

There is no safety cap included in this product, as has been pointed out by other reviewers. Although other similar knives with a cap are also available for sale, they only have one spare blade, as opposed to this package, which has three extra blades. Instead of a safety cap, I would rather have spare blades, so I purchased this item.
I decided that I would keep the knife in its My scissors let me open the plastic at the bottom of the knife. It is held in place by an indentation on the plastic (see blue circle in pic) that I cut out with a pair of scissors. Add a piece of tape to the bottom when not in use if you are very cautious. I can cut with the blade without any problem, as it is sharp.
It is also easy to change the blades. It does not have a safety cap, and I will certainly miss it, as I leave it on my work table, which is why I saved the card it came in, and cut off part of what I needed. So I always keep the knife inside, the way it came, so I have access to fresh blades when I need them. I have not used a sharp blade for a long time. This one is the best. It is very sleek, thin, and extremely easy to handle. The blades are easy to change and I found that to be surprising. Since I stopped using the sizzors for cutting craft patterns, I no longer need them. The process has made such a big difference. In addition, the Dahle Vantage cut mat functions as a "self healing" cutting board. It would have been nice to have known about these two items sooner to prevent destroying a couple of.
Some Xacto knives do not have caps, but there are other models on sale that do. The set appears to be cheaply made, but I am not sure why. I am out of luck and money on this one as I cannot return it. I'd like to edit what I said Some people suggested that I use pen caps in their reviews I tried it it didn't work Thanks for your kind words, Z.
I think the knife is fantastic as is every piece of Xacto brand equipment, but the cap is nothing special. When an attempt is made to encourage it, it falls off almost immediately. Even if the knife point is turned down, it just falls In order to make knives of good quality, a knife maker should understand the importance It was a very disappointing experience.
Blades with a soft texture. Despite being relatively flexible, the blades are quite rigid. It was hard for me to work with them. In the case of harder materials like felt and cork, a more durable blade would be preferable. It is possible this set came without a cap, but I am unsure of why that is. The world is a crazy place! It was impossible to find a cap sold separately, so I had to get another knife that came with a cap. There are many lost caps as well. I am surprised no one recognized the need for these.
- Made from all aluminum - Holds a blade well - Was packed with a small blade cap that is not in the picture - Cons - Were disappointed in the quality of the blade* I thought that cap wasn't very useful
I found that it was very cold when it was delivered
Other I just made a cap for it that fits the machine perfectly because I'm using it to trim 3D printed stuff. While I'd be wary about the cap that came with it, since it does not advertise coming with a cap, I cannot say it is a con or take away a star.
These blades and the holder make a terrific set. Despite the fact that all the blades are sharp, it doesn't seem to be a dangerous knife.
I really really really wish this book had come with a cover of some sort. It could even be something as simple as a plastic cover like you'd find on the legshaving razor. My first thought on this is that I will certainly hang myself on it. The inevitable is going to happen. My heart is heavy because of this.
This is just a piece of I think the blades are fine, but the handle is of a ridiculously low As the blade is loose and the threads in the blade holder are loose, I had to wrap plumber's tape around each blade base and threads in the blade holder in order to hold it tight. Once it has become functional and secure, it becomes valuable.
