As to the Estwing rock hammer, it has sharp points, otherwise I would not have considered it for the case. Having my hammer strapped to my side would let me use my hands for other things, so I wouldn't have to carry it around. Despite how well the case functions, I am disappointed with how stiff the materials are, and how hard it is to close the snaps. The supple leather that gets softer over time is something I miss.
I find it super comfortable to use with my 22oz Estwing rock hammer. A very high quality product! The stitching and rivets are in place. It's very strong and should last a lifetime. However, its snaps are a little stiff at first, and it takes a little practice to open them. As soon as you learn the correct method (pull the cover down over the snap buttons and hold the top snap to the edge of the bottom snap and roll the top onto the bottom snap), it's easy as pie. My prized possession is a hammer, and I would rather lose it on a hike than loose my snaps.
In our family, the rock hammer has been handed down from generation to generation. Our husband is a geologist, his sister, now deceased, gave him an Estwing hammer when he was 8 years old, and my mother gave our two older sons Estwing hammers when they were In addition, we have a grandson, Will, who received his Estwing hammer this year at age We know that all Estwing hammers are as strong, dependable, and rock-solid as Will's new tool! Jan (the wife, mother, and grandmother of the owners of Estwing) thanks you so much.
Even though it is not listed, it actually fits the Estwing 14 oz rock pick just fine. The reason I chose this one is because I read reviews from folks who bought the pick sheath listed for the 14 oz and said It looks like a blue sheath to me (I believe).
I hate that! If you don't have this, then your Estwing pick will damage anything (and everything) you pack next to it during your travels. Your products are excellent, everything you manufacture is honest and hard-working (which is different from me).
I've made this to hold a rock hammer while sliding down a hill screaming. It does exactly what it says, is durable, and the snaps are tight so the hammer won't fall out while you're tearing down the hill. Purchasing it is recommended, if you need it.
Materials are very durable, and the construction is solid. I designed my rock hammer so that the sharp point of the business end is pointed away from the wearer, should he or she happen to The clasp and closure flap are firmly secured by two solid buttons. The back flap can easily be opened and closed with one hand. A finely crafted, straight-forward assistant.
Nevertheless, he complained that the buttons on the item had trouble staying closed.
