I've been using these for over four weeks now (to trim a small tree project) and have yet to be disappointed. They cut cleanly (they're razor sharp right out of the box), are comfortable to use, and appear to be well-made; they look like they'll last a long time before dulling, and sharpening them shouldn't be too difficult. For that reason, they have a little slack built in (the shear tips cross each other a little to account for future metal removal during sharpening). My only caution is that because this is a forged, high-carbon steel tool, it will rust if not properly coated after each use. This is a great choice if you use this tool frequently enough to justify the time spent caring for it; however, if you only use it occasionally on small projects, you'd be better off with a stainless version. Stainless steel (due to the fact that most companies use 440 A) will take a lot less abuse than these, but it should be fine for light use.
The only disadvantage is that if you work with smaller trees, you may find that they are too large to be precise. These shears are designed for medium to large-sized animals. a bonsai of a suitable size If you have smaller trees, their Satsuki shears will suffice. br>br>They are also carbon steel, which I prefer over stainless steel, but this means you will have to clean and sharpen them more frequently. When they start to show signs of rust and wear, I like to use camellia oil, followed by Sabitoru rust erasers (both of which are readily available on Amazon!). Use a small Okatsune whetstone for sharpening, which only needs water after being oiled. While this may appear to be a time-consuming process, it is well worth it in exchange for high-quality, long-lasting shears from Japan! I wish you luck with your bonsai endeavors!.
I was looking for Japanese-style scissors. made (even if at a slightly higher cost) in the hopes of better quality. In comparison to the scissors I have, which were made in a different, much larger Asian country, it was a good choice. The fit, edges, and smooth operation are superior to those of my other watches. The steel appears to be of excellent quality as well. These are something I'd buy again.
These bonsai shears are well-designed and well-made, and they're very comfortable to hold in the hand; they're also great for light clipping tasks in the garden or with houseplants.
It's razor-sharp and versatile, with the ability to cut paper and fabric. It's made in such a way that both left and right-handed people can use it easily. individuals who are left-handed When held in the hand, it is light but well-balanced. Perfect for what I wanted to do with it, which was to work with succulents.
These are a dream to use. They're razor-sharp and cut through plant stems like they're supposed to. I'm very happy with the product's quality and price. There was a $10 discount when I made my purchase. It was made even better by the fact that there was a 00 coupon available.
For working with fresh flowers, these are fantastic. They're both lovely and practical, in my opinion. They're always with me in my floral tool belt.
