It is not what you see in the picture on the internet! I have uploaded what I have. The pliers are useless because they are so small that I am unable to hold them in my hand, and the 1 mm green and black wires are also useless. The 1. Wires with diameters of 5 and 2 mm are very malleable and would not be able to keep a small branch in place. Copper wire from a home improvement store may be a better option.
The wire is of good quality, and the clippers are also of good quality. Because the clippers were in a plastic bag inside a plastic bag with the wires, which were in their own plastic bag, all of which was in a slightly thicker plastic bag, I deducted a star. So much unnecessary garbage that I now have to dispose of while feeling guilty.
First and foremost, I have no idea what I'm doing with this, but I have so many seedlings in the yard that it seemed like a better option than ripping them out. Instead, I'm experimenting with cedars and maples in small plastic pots. As a result, remember that. br>All of these wires are extremely thin. Even the thickest branches struggle to maintain the shape of a branch with a diameter of less than 1/4". It's a good idea to double up on your efforts. Otherwise, it's fine; I think I'll need some thicker wire, but that's not due to any flaws in the product; the wire cutters cut through all wires without issue. They're also good for some trimming, which isn't what they're supposed to be used for. I'd post photos, but I don't want my odd work to detract from the product's quality; after all, I have to hide my disaster project trees to keep my wife from throwing them away. br>br>Summary: br>br> It's a good product. This is just a hobby that I'm terrible at.
Last fall, I used this kit to wire a couple of Ficus trees, and the trees are still alive and the branches appear to be trained the way I wanted them in the spring. There was also a lot of extra wire. Unless I start a Bonsai nursery, I doubt I'll ever need to buy any more. This isn't going to happen.
This is an excellent starter set for bonsai enthusiasts. This is exactly what you get when you buy a starter set of wire for a bonsai set, minus the wire cutters. By the way, if you're a regular-sized human, the cutters are perfectly normal in size. 0 and 1. Yes, 5 is a very light wire, but if you're wiring small bonsai, shohin, or mame, you'll need it. I use 1. 0 is primarily for directing new growth that isn't pointing in the direction I want it to. I use 1. Get yourself a variety of sizes, learn how to use it (check out Eastern Leaf), and this pack will serve you well.
The thick wire is the only one that should be used. The rest are far too flimsy to be used in a bon-a-fide Bon-a-fide Bon-a-fide Bon-a-fide Bon-a-fide Bon Sai. Simply buy a roll of standard wire (trust me, you'll see when you get this kit), return it as soon as possible, and get some real wire. The snips are too small to do any real trimming, and they are, after all, intended for electrical work.
I ordered bonsai wire for the first time, and I'm glad I did. I was removing the insulation from some copper wire I had lying around, which was a pain in the backside. This wire appears to be made of aluminum and comes in a variety of colors and thicknesses. The colors don't appear to be part of a sizing scheme; rather, they appear to be there so you can choose the color that will hide you the best. The order came without any documentation.
The wire performed exactly as it was designed to. I had no trouble manipulating my bonsai trees the way I wanted. The wire is flexible but strong enough to keep the bonsai tree in place. I had no difficulty cutting the wires with the wire cutters. If you're just getting started, this is a must-have.
