It's made of steel, to be sure. That was one of our favorite aspects of it. It is very strong and durable, and it comes at a reasonable price.
There is no bolt; instead, the roller is held in place by a clip that attaches to the rod. About a half-inch of the rod extends beyond the roller.

When I was renovating my house, I bought this and decided to use Zip sheathing. I assumed you had to use the super-expensive applicator and roller they sell, but the lumberyard salesman said all I needed was a rubber roller, which I could get on Amazon for under $10. This one caught my eye, so I decided to give it a go. It worked flawlessly! Although the tape is quite sticky, it initially appears that it will not adhere well to the sheathing and framing. BUT, once it's been rolled with something like this, it's permanently attached! br>br>Since then, I've used it with other flashing tapes (Protecto-Flash, for example). Wrap) and it also works wonders in terms of adhesion. This book comes highly recommended.
It's possible that some of this was due to my poor decision to purchase this tool. It was my first time working with laminate on a table top. This roller, on the other hand, did not appeal to me. At 3", it's quite narrow. It's far too easy to roll it off the edge of the table top and crack the laminate that hangs over the edge. Because the front grip isn't glued to the bar, it simply slides down to the roller end. When trying to apply force to the roller, I also found the curved shaft to be unwieldy. It encourages the narrow roller to ride up to the edge of the track. I completed the task, but if I need to do another laminate job, I will purchase a different roller.
This was purchased to apply Wilsonart Laminate to the countertops of the vanity cabinets I recently built, and it did a great job. Please accept my apologies for the poor quality of the photographs. I was in a hurry at the time, so I only took a few quick photos to leave this review. This is a good thing because the roller is surprisingly sturdy for the price. The handle is rigid and lacks any flex. Not even when rolling with both hands and applying a fair amount of pressure. Some people are bothered by the rubber's odor. Personally, I was unaffected by the odor. I'm not saying it doesn't smell like rubber, but it wasn't strong enough for me to notice. One thing to keep in mind when using this roller is that it is quite heavy. It's especially important to use it on surfaces that are prone to scratching. Before using the roller, make sure it's free of debris. It picks up dibre easily because it's a fairly tacky rubber. The rubber's tackiness is beneficial because it allows the roller to grip very flat sheeny surfaces and roll rather than slide across the work piece.
I misplaced my high-end roller on the job site and bought this to replace it. This one is just as good as the more expensive one I used to have. Although it has a narrow 3" head that appears to be standard, my previous roller was a little wider. The narrower profile, on the other hand, has no bearing on its use. I use this roller to roll down formica and Wilson art laminate onto a surface after both sides have been coated in contact adhesive; it works great, though the rubber roller seems to attract dust and small particles.
I bought it to install Noico soundproofing material in the interior of my car, and I'm glad I did. The construction is extremely sturdy, allowing me to twist and contort my body in order to reach all of the strange nooks and crannies without fear of damaging the tool. Also, because there is no flexing, I can apply appropriate pressure even at odd angles. Having a J-letter in your name is a good thing. The roller helped a lot with corners, and the nut at the end didn't get in the way like I thought it would. br>br>I've completed over 50 square feet of soundproofing with this roller, and it still looks and works like new.
There are no bubbles! My first laminating job was a basement wall wrap for a client's home. After constructing the deck on which the bookshelves will sit, I installed laminate - For me, it was the first time. This roller caught my eye and I decided to give it a try. It's fantastic! It's easy to apply a lot of pressure without pulling arm tendons or causing a kink in the back because of the shape. The soft roller glides over the laminate without causing it to crease or leave marks. It's small enough to fit into tight spots and ensure that all sections are securely fastened. My first lamination was a slam dunk with the help of this tool. It can be used on any project that requires adhering to a surface - as well as laying non-toxic Ceramic floor tile is a low-cost option that looks professional. Roll it!.
I had no idea the center hub extended past the roller's end. It's impossible to roll into corners when using this product. I had to remove the clip on the end and slide the roller off, despite the fact that it is made of steel, rolls smoothly, and feels very sturdy. Then remove about a quarter-inch of material with a grinder. It's now fully functional.
I didn't want to pay full price for a used item, so I returned it and purchased a new one. It's a good roller that works well.
